The heat was not as bad as she thought it would be. In fact, it was much more tame, considering the bodies filling the arena and the buzzing in energies. Violet, however, did not mind. She was 15, and she felt she was lucky to be able to take the Magic Knights entrance exam, even if it was later than she had wanted. Her hands were poised neatly in front of her, her feet were facing in opposite directions, one in front of the other as the heels of her worn down flats touched. The day was quite clear though a few of the other young mages that were to take the exam seemed to complain. She didn't see any reason to. Any light at all was a blessing in disguise. She didn't chastise them though for not realizing what they had. She had no place to. She decided not to focus on their words, but the details in her surroundings.

She couldn't help but to admire the details on the walls, the stands from which the captains would spectate, and on occasion she would even study her own grimoire though she figured it couldn't take much longer for the exams to start. The more she thought of the surroundings the more her anxiety seemed to fade. Every second felt like minutes, every actual minute felt like an hour.

To most of the mages, it was just a small opportunity that they could come back to, over and over. The small teenager however, did not have this option, if she failed this exam she knew what her fate was meant to be, a fate she did not want but one she would simply accept.

Eventually it was announced that the exam was about to begin by the fireworks in the sky, and Violet gulped, she felt nervous and she didn't have a single clue as to why.

All of her attention was captured as one of the magic knight captains spoke, though she found it quite difficult to really understand since her mind was racing.

He wore a mask, and spoke with such authority, she overheard some of the others talking about him. William Vangeance? She gulped, feeling something, more than likely her fear, stuck in her throat. She listened carefully to his words.

"Attention examinees, thank you for waiting. I will be administering this year's entrance exam." The masked man held out his grimoire, and Violet watched as it flipped to a specific page. "World Tree Creation Magic, Magic Trees Descent..."

Violet could do nothing but watch in awe as the sky darkened and the top of a tree appeared, many branches reaching out to the examinees and creating brooms. She studied the wood, smiling at how smooth and clean it seemed. Though she supposed that was to be expected considering it was made of magic.

William began to explain why this was so important, and Violet gave an unnecessary nod to show she understood. She was trying to keep herself calm, and actually sat sideways on her broom. She had no actual trouble keeping balance managing to tie her long pitch black hair into a sloppy knot. It still was close to her hips, but it wouldn't get in her face as much.

Her eyes were focused on what she needed to do, not much of anyone else around them. Though when she lost concentration of flying she could hear some of those below seeming to make fun of a white haired boy, one who she could not sense any mana from. She felt a pit in her stomach as she recognized him or at least she thought she did. Violet went back down and put a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Are you okay?" She frowned, worried, shooting a harsh glare towards those who were judging him. Despite being 4 ft 8, she was quite intimidating when she wanted to be.

"Focus on what you need to do... Not how he is doing..." Her voice was quite low, though they got the point and nervously managed to either walk off or tend to what they were supposed to. Before the boy could say anything to her though, Violet had already flown off. She never really tolerated such things. It was unbecoming of someone with any potential for any future. After the first portion of the exam, she felt a bit more confident in herself and untied her hair from its knot.
