Dean stormed through the bunker, the sound of heavy boots echoing along the concrete floors and walls. His shoulders were tense and squared, carrying yet another weight that wasn't his to bear. He's been off for a couple days, but has done everything he could to not show it. Weakness wasn't an option. Not in this line of work.

You were right behind him as he rounded the corner in the hall, headed for the comfort of his own room. He didn't say say a single word the whole ride back. "Dean, come on." Your pleads were met with a swift slam of his door. "Dammit, Dean. Let me in!"

Familiar guitar riffs filled the air as his turned his music up louder to avoid the world around him. "Leave me the hell alone, Y/N!"

"Not until you talk to me." The resounding crash of your fist against the smooth surface of his door was enough to cause Sam to emerge from his room long enough to get the picture.

Dean's voice was a full growl by this point, "You know I can't. Just drop it!"

"BULLSHIT! You can, you just don't want to let yourself!"

The door flung open, revealing a tired, and hurting Dean Winchester. His eyes giving his away. He could say he didn't or couldn't talk about it all he wants, but those green orbs betray him every time. He was hurting, and wanted comfort, yet he couldn't let himself have it. His face was heavy and with conflict. "Y/N...." He took ragged breath in, This was tough for him. It goes against everything in his body. "I can't talk to you. I can't."

Your hand rested on his arm,"Yes, you can Dean."

He pulled away from your touch, "No, I can't. I can't let myself fall into the trap of having someone to lean on." His eyes darted around, looking at anything but you. "If let you in, and get comfortable, how do I deal with things when your gone, huh? What do I do when you up and leave like everyone else, or god forbid get killed!?"

Right there, your heart shattered into a thousand pieces. He was hurt far more than you could have ever imagined. "Dean....I."

'You don't have to say anything. I shouldn't have said anything."

He turned to once more return to his room when your hand caught his, "Dean, I'm not going to leave you. You'll never have to suffer by yourself again." His eyes were glossy with the tears he was fighting to hold back as his hand gripped yours tighter. "I promise."

His hand yanked against yours, pulling your body against his in one swift motion. "I.."

"I love you too, Dean"
