Part 29: Trust

Skylers pov

We have been walking for about 10 minutes and I thought that would be enough time to let Jack cool off a bit.

I quickened my pace and caught up to him. He still had a hard face but it softened when he saw me. I smiled and took his hand then brought it to my lips for a little peck.

Before I could that he pulled away. I looked at him confused at his actions. "If you don't want me to take right here right now then I suggest you don't do that" He said.

I blushed and looked away. He chuckled. "Uhm....what's the next obstacle" I said when I calmed down a bit. Jack looked on the map.

"It's about I'm guessing it's about two minutes away because we passed this weird looking tree already so...." He pointed to the tree on our left that's also on the map.

"...the next place is called The maze of illusions" He said and I cursed. "Dammit....I hate mazes!" I exclaimed. Jack giggled (yeah giggled)

"What maze are you talking about and why did Jack giggle like a chick?" Mike said and Jack smiled.

"The next obstacle has to do with a maze and we have a maze genius in this group" He said.
"And that is.....?" I asked. Mike's eyes widened. "Brady duh" Jack said.

"He always used to get mazes right when we were younger and he used to beat me all the time......" Jack's smile faded. "....ahem never mind" He said...face returning to emotionless.

I guess he forgot that Brady and himself had a fight. Brady's smile faded as well and I think he thought that Jack had forgiven him.

I sighed. "Woah look at that!" Brady exclaimed but shut his mouth when Jack looked at him.

Both boys turned the attention to the HUGE maze in front of us. Damn that thing's huge! There's no way we can go over it to see the way.

Arghhhh the life of an Earthling well I guess Ifedian now!

Mikes pov

"Okay so the sign says: Trust is the key to this challenge. Believe what is to believe but be careful not all may seem to be. Darkness sees what is to believe and Light sees what's not to believe. Trust each other and the maze shall show you the way."

"What the f-" I cut Skyler off with a cough. "Okay so let's figure out what it means" Brady said quietly from beside me. "Yeah we should" Jack said refusing to make eye contact with Brady.

"I understand the first bit where it says 'all may not seem to be'...that's probably the illusions that they're talking about" I said and Skyler nodded her head.

"But what do they mean by darkness and light?" Jack asked. "Hey... Woah take a look at this" Brady said walking towards the entrance of the maze.

"It's another sign" Skyler walked towards Brady and put an arm around his shoulder. Jack visibly tensed but said nothing.

"Choose brave adventures.....speak with a clear voice who you deem worthy in your duo to be the darkness." Skyler read

"So...we must tell the maze as in talk to it?" Jack said. Everyone looked at him like he was the stupidest guy on earth. Even Brady gave him a look.
Jack flushed and kept quiet.

"Okay so I still don't know what darkness a light is but I really believe that I should be light don't ask me why I just have a gut feeling" Skyler said.

"It says in your duo so we have to split up" I pointed out. "So I'm guessing that there's probably two ways to get out of this stupid maze" Jack said.
