Thieves during day?
Lissette spent her time during recess with Jimmy, who she loved playing with now. He always bought Barbie dolls for her. Even though she didn’t like those kinds of toys, she took it anyways to make her friend feel better.
“Jimmy, you want to go play jump rope with me?” Lissette tugs on his hand and he shook his head,
“Stay with me.” He begged and she nodded with a pout, sitting down next o him again. They have been sedentary for soo long, making her dying slowly of boredom. Jimmy looks over at Lissette and smiles giving in.
“Fine, let’s go.” He pulls her to the playground. They both skip towards Lily and Rosie swinging the rope with Melody and Marianne jumping in the middle simultaneously. Lissette held back and turned away.
“Let’s go play something else.” Lissette pulls Jimmy over to the playground but he turned down her offer. He made her walk back to the cement where the jump rope was taken place again.
“You said jump rope so we’re playing jump rope.” Jimmy answered sternly tugging Lissette over to the girls who are singing a rhyme to their game. Lissette saw how fun the game is, but felt scared to jump in. “Go ahead.” Jimmy pushes the little girl lightly forward and Lissette nodded overcoming her fear of the bullies. I can do this. She jumped into the game where Melody and Marianne just smirked and jumps out. The girls grab some small rocks and aimed it at Lissette. But Lissette didn’t give up by jumping out and kept jumping every time the rope swings, she was going to stay strong. Jimmy saw a tiny rock thrown at Lisstte’s head and he caught the object in his hand right away before it could hurt the girl. Jimmy angrily walks over to the sisters and threw the rock towards their foot.
“I warn you not to hurt her anymore…” Jimmy glares at the sister and Marianne sticks out her tongue.
“She’s a stupid dummy. We ca do whatever we want.” She hooked onto Melody’s arm and they turned their backs walking away. Jimmy clenched his fist and walks up to the girls ferociously pushing them to the ground and walks away. Melody scraped her knee and she cried nonstop.
30 minutes…
The sister’s mom stood in the principal’s office with Jimmy sitting next to Lissette and Aria holding her daughter in her arms listening to the principal explains the situation after hearing two sides of the story.
“It’s her fault for hurting my baby!” Gloria (Melody and Marianne mother) pointed a finger accusingly at Aria and Lissette while Jimmy just sat still in silent playing with his long sleeves, pulling the ends of the hand.
“Her daughters threw rocks at my daughter first Ms. Hickle, you have to give justice to us.” Aria answered softly, not even bothering to raise her voice for these types of people. The principal sat in her seat with a slight nod,
“I will give detentions to all three girls. Lissette you shouldn’t have let an adult in the playground without permission.” She looks from Lissette to the sisters sternly, “And you two. There is absolutely no bullying allowed on this campus. These kids will serve half an hour of suspension after school.” Ms. Hickle leans back on her leather chair looking at each of the faces carefully as they slowly walk out the room disappointedly. Jimmy followed Lissette and Aria outside with his head down and Aria stops in her tracks turning around to face the guy,
“Thanks for being there to help Liz. She’s naïve at times and won’t say a word to me about her being bullied.” Aria shakes her head and Lissette kept her head towards the cement floor.
“You won’t need to worry anymore; Lissette will be safe with me.” Jimmy assures with a soft smile, looking down at Lissette. She was so cute; her pink face was burning under the scorching sun with sweat rolling down from her hairline. He kneels down to her level and took out a Barbie doll to give to the little girl. Lissette shakes her head and pushes the doll back into Jimmy’s hand.
