Chapter One
(Michelle's POV)
I'm only 14. I've never had anything go my way. I've been up and down on this roller coaster known as life for the past five years.
I've never been to public school and I have probably three friends. Well now I have non considering what has just happened to me.
My Mom decided sent me and my step brother here, Mullingar, Ireland. She thinks it will be a good for us to bond.
Alex and I don't have a very good relationship. He's always thought of me as spoiled, I've always thought of him as selfish.
Alex's 17 years old yet he acts like he's 4. He does everything for himself. Personal gain only.
I don't think she knows why Alex and I don't have a good relationship... Otherwise things would be completely different.
He has a tenancy to be quite violent towards me...
We've been here for 48 hours and I'm scared he's going to hurt me again.
It's hard to avoid each other. We have a small house on the edge of the city to share. It's two stories high with an attic. The kitchen, living room, dinning room and entrance to the house are all on the main floor. On the upper floor there's a full bathroom, Alex's bedroom and his spare room.
I say his spare room because I told Alex whole house to himself as long as the kitchen, living room and the bathroom on the upper floor are common space. I'm trying my best to distance myself from him. I really am. But it's hard when you've just been flown in from Canada two days earlier.
So basically all I get is my attic bedroom.
It's quite a large room. It's the full length of the house and has a large window you can sit at. There also is a small bathroom attached. It has a shower that's only big enough for one person, a toilet and a small sink with a mirror.
It will look so much better in here when I'm done unpacking. I think to myself as I walk along the light coloured wood floor.
The only other thing I can think about besides unpacking is my little sister, Jenna and the rest of my family. How are they doing without me? Do they miss me?
Thankfully I'm going into town today to get a phone and wifi set up. Then I can finally talk to my family again.
"MICHELLE GET YOU'RE ASS DOWN HERE AND MAKE ME FOOD!" Alex yelled from the bottom of the stairs, tearing me from my thoughts of home and our plans for the afternoon.
"Okay, one second!!" I said as I paused my iPod and ran down the stairs to the small white kitchen of the house and its old white appliances.
I quickly realized Alex wasn't in the kitchen, sending me into a bit of a panic. As I walked into the living room and not dinging him there as well I walked back to the kitchen.
I couldn't stand still knowing what Alex has done to me in the past so I walked over to look in the living room for him. Just as I walked into the room I felt a cold blade on my throat.
(Niall's POV)
School had been a drag today. Greg was being a show-off because of his new girl friend Casey.
Big deal. Just because I haven't found the right girl yet doesn't mean he should be a jerk about it.
At least Casey is nice to me.
I walked home I kicked a rock along the ground, shuffling my shoes along the sidewalk. One headphone in the other out while I listen to Jason Maraz on my phone.
