The World According to a Young American (Prologue)

Prologue: Where I come from.

As an American, I tend to have points of views different than others from around the world. America is by far the most interesting country and here is why. Our culture is so mixed that when asked “where are you from” you quickly state the country from which your grandparents or parents came from.

My name is Jared DeLuna, I am a young American currently living and working in Moscow, Russia. This book will take you on a journey through my head and hopefully show you the world in a different light.

You see, I first came to Russia, two years ago (as a matter of fact it was exactly two years ago last week). When I came to Russia, I was told that I would have everything I ever wanted with little or no work cut out for me.

I was sadly mistaken. For two years, I have struggled to find my place in this gigantic country. When I first came here, I was a teacher of English, however I quickly learned that I hated to teach as well as the fact that I hated to interact with people that were making more money than me.

At my heart, I am a full blooded American. I live to find new and exciting ideas that will not only make me famous, but also add money to my future.  As I sit here writing up this story, I find myself, thinking about how Americans view the world, and how I have changed my point of view.

So, without further delay let us begin on our journey. Although I am still young, I believe that my voice should be heard so that others can learn and might be able to view the world in a different light.
