Turtle sits with his friends in the snack cave, whereas Secretdawn and Zero sat on the other side of the cave, seemingly trying to get as far away as possible. Moon is trying to tell him, Kinkajou and Peril about what happened, and the three have to lean close as Moon lowers her voice. "And then- well- she had a prophecy burst. Her eyes turned white and she spoke in an odd tone, similar to the tone I had when my prophecy was.....spoken." Kinkajou gasped beside me, her scales shifting colour. Moon repeats the prophecy to me, Kinkajou and Peril, and my gaze flickers over to Secretdawn. She's staring me dead in the eyes. Turtle immediately looks away nervously. In the corner of my vision, I can see the hybrid dragonet fidget in the corner. "We need to try to figure this out. But I think we need to tell someone before we leave." Moon says, glancing up at Secretdawn. "I agree. But we should leave soon, in case Secretdawn gets any ideas. Maybe we should all tell a prophecy dragonet to save time?" Qibli suggests. "Actually, we are prophecy dragonets too. YOU GUYS WAIT WE ARE PROPHECY DRAGONETS TOO!!!" Kinkajou exclaims loudly, and Moon hushes her as we try to form a plan. "So should we do that?" I ask, again glancing up at Secretdawn, only to see her concentrating, as if analyzing something. "Yeah," Qibli looks at the other as he speaks," I can tell Sunny." I frown. "Wait you guys. What is Secretdawn doing?" I ask in a hushed whisper. Everyone immediately looks over at her, but she doesn't seem to notice. "I'm not sure, but I'll take that as a cue for everyone to know who they're going to tell now." Moon says, pointedly looking at the others. "I'll tell Clay!" Peril says, a bit too fast. "I wanna tell Queen Glory!" Kinkajou says, smiling. I frown with the rest of the group. That might be a problem. "Maybe we can just get a message to her?" I suggest. Kinkajou frowns and huffs. "Fiiiiiiine." Winter sighs, looking impatient. "Okay. Moon will take Starflight and Turtle can tell Tsunami." We all-finally-agree on that. We will send a message to Queen Glory, because Secretdawn could be gone and have left by the time we get back. We will leave soon and head for....well, we don't really know. We just have to leave Jade Mountain is case the prophecy dragonets try to keep us here, or go with us. I look over at Secretdawn again, only to see an empty corner. "Um guys........where did Secretdawn go?" I ask nervously. Again, everyone's heads swivel to the empty corner. "Find her! Now!" Winter was barking orders, telling everyone where to search. Moon to the library, Kinkajou to the arts cave..........
****************************
I need to leave. I know they have something planned... and it doesn't involve my will. I get the feeling that Winter would freeze me if I tried to leave, and Qibli would burn me after that. This has to work! I sit in my cave, packing the few belongings I have, while Zero is in another cave, packing his stuff. Of course, I made sure Zero WANTED to come before barging in and stomping all over his life. As I quickly try to get all my stuff in a small pile, I reach out to analyze the future. A thousand glittering futures shine bright in my head, and it may take a bit to go through them. Quickly, I surf through the nearest ones. Hiding in the library would get me caught....so would hiding in the arts center. Hmm. It seems like they spread out to look for me. Honestly, I might just have a better chance of running for the exit and hiding in the forest with Zero while they search. I would like to see what they have planned for me if I get caught....but there is no time for that. I struggle to push the visions back under the layers of mental protection, as well as making sure Moon can't read my mind. That would be bad. I need to figure out where to go, what to do- I know I need to solve this, but they won't help me. Maybe.....I can't go back to my parents, they would just put me right back in school. So if the Sand Kingdom won't work, maybe I can flee to where the NightWings live! Maybe I won't be accepted, but at least it will give me time to figure out what to do next. Of course, Zero would stick out like..... well, like an IceWing in a village of NightWings. I would stick out, too, but not like him. I guess he would just have to hide, if he still wants to come. I walk briskly, not trying to bring any attention to myself. Head down, move forward, no one will even glance at you. I stop at Zeros cave, where he waits patiently at the entrance to the room. "Okay. We go for the exit. Try to act normal. I'll tell you the rest on the way, but it involves hiding you. You okay with that?" I look him dead in the eyes. Please say yes, say yes, that's okay with you. I can't do this alone. Zero glanced around. "Yup, that's okay with me. Although, I thought YOU were the one who needed to hide?" He asked, visibly confused. "I'll explain when we get out of here." He nodded and followed me. Head down, move forward, no one will look at me. My motto for as long as I can remember, other than 'don't let them know'. But that one has been completely thrown off the top of a mountain after being set on fire. Just as we round the corner to come into the large cave, I catch a glimpse of icy white scales. I immediately back up against the wall, hoping he didn't see me. I reach into the possible futures. Winter, that's what I thought. He was flying around outside, but must have come back early. And he had seen me. I couldn't turn back now, but he hadn't seen Zero....... "Zero. Quickly. Go back to your cave, unpack and pretend you hadn't even known my plan." He looks shocked and confused. "But-"
"No. No time. You have to go. I've been seen. Just trust me."
I plead with my eyes, begging him to trust me.
"Yeah, okay. I trust you." He nods and then rushes out, trying not to look suspicious but trying to act fast.
"Secretdawn."
I freeze up, feeling his icy breath behind me. I can practically hear his smirk. I quickly push the visions back under and turn to face the angry IceWing standing right behind me.
(Alright! Finally, Chapter 5! I apologize that there aren't as many different POVs this chapter, but that was just how it worked out.)
