I was born in June of 1994 to my mother Constance Badru in San Francisco, California.
That is everything that I know about my biological parents. That was all that was on my birth certificate. No father was listed. My adopted parents, Margaret and Joe Woods, aren't of any help either. They don't know any more information about my birth family. It sure didn't help that we had moved cross country when I was in my first year of high school. We now lived in a tiny, piece of shit town in northern New Hampshire.
My closest friend was a kid from one of my art classes, Nathan. He was a good friend, but he spent the majority of the time glued to his boyfriend's side. Not that I can really blame him, because William is hot as hell. And they're mated werewolves, but that's a whole other story.
Besides him and my parents, I didn't have anyone important in my life. I didn't mind, being around others just made my head hurt. Plus having only them made it easier for me to leave. No emotional goodbyes when I leave tomorrow for San Francisco. I had already told Nathan I was leaving and he seemed sad, but he understood that I needed this. I felt like such a big part of me was missing. Knowing where I come from could help me understand why I am the way that I am.
It was around when I turned ten that I knew I wasn't like everyone else. I could almost pinpoint the exact moment from my brain that I learned about my...abilities.
I was at my birthday party, about to open a birthday present. I remember my mom placing the wrapped gift into my hands and as soon as my hands touched the box, I saw the contents in a vision. Not like something stupid like x-ray vision, but something much more magical. I vividly saw myself opening the present in my head. I exclaimed so excitedly that my parents had bought me exactly what I had wanted. My mom looked over to my dad, exchanging a strange look with one another before they had chalked it up to a good guess.
I know that it may sound stupid to most, but I know what I saw that day and it continued to happen to me. I learned that it was better to keep these predictions to myself. Everyone always looked at like a sort of freak of nature. But that wasn't all that happened to me that year. I soon learned that with just the power of my thoughts, I could make things happen. After years of practicing, with enough focus and concentration, I could do anything I set my mind to.
On the night of my thirteenth birthday, I was laying in my bed, just like any other night when I heard a grating noise against my window. Being a curious kid, I cautiously had padded my way over to the window from my bed and swiped the curtains aside to reveal a jet black kitten scratching at the glass. I hastily threw the window open and the kitten happily jumped into my waiting arms. I peered out my second-story window, wondering how a kitten had gotten itself on my roof. I glanced down at the small bundle of fur as it stretched itself out on my chest with a tiny little mew escaping its lips.
I was instantly smitten with him and had taken him in as my pet. My parents didn't have a choice in the matter, I was keeping him. I ended up naming him Zilv and he had quickly become my best confidant. He listened to me ramble on about my life throughout the years as if he could really understand what I was saying.
Of course, he was naturally coming with me to San Francisco to start my new life. I don't think I could make it without him. Just an odd gay boy and his cat, all alone, taking on a brand new city.
AN: OMG ITS FINALLY STARTING
soo...first thoughts??
What do you kittens think?I'm beyond excited to start on this new adventure and can't wait to see the journey this book will take me. I know some of you are going to be sad there's not going to be much of Nathan/William, but I promise that you kittens are going to love Jordan just as much!
