Doctor Park - Chanbaek/Baekyeol

Ch. 4

"I'm leaving now!!" Jaemyung yells before he leaves the house.

I've already updated Kyungsoo and Jongdae on my situation and they decided to come over and spend the morning with me.

Couple minutes after Jaemyung walks out the door my two best friends walk in.

"It's been so long I almost forgot about how the place looked like..." Kyungsoo looked around my home.

"Well, a year isn't that long!"

Last time Jongdae and Kyungsoo came over was for my birthday a year ago, Jaemyung didn't allow friends to come over unless he was there and it's uncomfortable for my friends and I having Jaemyung watch us so I never invited anyone over since then.

"Have you eaten?" Asked Jongdae.

"Nah I have no appetite." I reply.

"Well you gotta eat something Baek, I brought some food for you since you always ate those sandwiches at work for breakfast." Kyungsoo places containers with food on the table.

"Well if it's made by you then I'm eating it." I look at the containers.

"Of course, well we'll get going now, get well soon! We'll visit more often." Kyungsoo and Jongdae say goodbye then leave.

I sigh and quietly eat the food that Kyungsoo brought for me. While I'm finishing the food I receive a text on my phone.

From Dr. Park!

Dr. Park Chanyeol: hey baekhyun how are you feeling?

Baekhyun: better, a lot better than I did a couple of days ago.

Dr. Park: thank god

Dr. Park: So when do you wanna hang out? I'm good with today if you are?

I stop and think for a moment, today is Tuesday! Jaemyung is always home late on Tuesday's, and even if he doesn't come home late today I'm free to hang out with who I please.

Baekhyun: yes today is perfect!

Dr. Park: Can I have your address so i can pick you up?

Baekhyun: oh it's fine we can just meet up somewhere

Dr. Park: nope, you're sick remember i dont want anything happening to you baekhyun.

Baekhyun: okay :)

I send Dr. Park my address and he tells me to get lots of rest until he comes by to take me somewhere. I'm excited, so excited that I forget that I'm sick. Maybe it'll go away early if I spend more time with Dr. Park.

  I just might have a tiny crush on Dr. Park. He's handsome, kind, sweet and everything I want in a guy, and I hope he's interested too, I doubt he flirts like that with all patients and I'm pretty sure he doesn't take them out either- but cheating isn't fair. Jaemyung loves me and although he's a piece of shit it's wrong to hurt anyone like that. He really doesn't want to let me go and I have to figure out a way to make him. Plus, if I end up with Chanyeol (which I highly doubt honestly) I wouldn't want to keep it a secret from anyone.

"Is it okay if I take the rest of the day off today?" I ask my father, who is the owner of the hospital I work at.

"What? Chanyeol you're a resident doctor you're supposed to be available 24 hours a day I can't let you go whenever you feel like it..." Says my father sounding slightly disappointed in me.

"I know but...I'm meeting this guy and- I can't let him down!" I respond.

"Chanyeol, do you remember your first year as a resident? You were so dedicated and passionate about becoming a doctor here, what happened? Did you lose that passion?" He asks.

I don't know how to respond, I've noticed I'm not as excited about becoming a doctor anymore, I'm not sure if I want it anymore, but it's my father and I's dream to work side by side.

"No, my passion is still here. So don't worry." I reassure him.

"Good, you had me worried for a second." He laughs, "Alright, I'll let you go just this once."

"Really! Thank you!" I thank my father before leaving his office.

As I walk towards the hospital's exit I feel a hand grab my shoulder.

   Ugh Yoo Jinwoo, one of the few things I hate at the hospital. Not many people want to mess with me because they know my father could get them fired, but Jinwoo knows that I wouldn't do that, I wouldn't risk ruining someone's life- no matter who they are.

"Where you headed? It isn't your break yet." He asks.

I don't respond.

Jinwoo laughs at me, "Of course your old man let you go right? That's why you aren't getting any better Park."

"This is the first time I've done this, Jinwoo." I respond.

"I'm aware, but don't act like you haven't asked for other favors before," Says Jinwoo, "We all know you don't care about becoming a doctor anymore Park, just quit already- oh wait! You're talentless! If you quit you would be living off your dad for the rest of life...how pathetic."

I resist the urge to punch Jinwoo in the face and ignore him and walk out the door. He's right though, I hate admitting this to myself but I have asked for other favors multiple times, and I really don't care about becoming a doctor anymore; I can't disappoint my father though. We've talked about making me a doctor and working together since I was a kid, how could I disappoint him now. It's too late for me to pursue anything else anyway, but I want to become a producer. I love creating music and I'd love to find people to sing my songs, but my priority should be the hospital and there's simply no time. Minseok can sing but he's too busy to, so I've given up on that dream.

I enter my car and remove my white coat and toss it to the back seat. I call Baekhyun and I smile when he picks up.

"Hello?" My smile grows after hearing his voice.

"Hey! Just letting you know I'm coming now. Please dress comfortably I feel bad for taking you out while you're still unwell."

"It's okay Dr. Park! I felt so much better after seeing you yesterday, maybe you're my medicine." Is Baekhyun flirting with me?

Is Baekhyun interested in me too? I'm still figuring out how I feel about the smaller male but I know for sure that I enjoy just being in the same room as him, I want to see him smile more and I want him to be happy. Right now, he isn't and I want to help him. Am I weird? We only met recently but I feel like I need to protect him no matter what.

"Baekhyun, we aren't at the hospital call me Chanyeol please." I pout even though he can't see me.

"Sorry...Chanyeol."

I smile after hearing him say my name, "I'll see you in a bit, bye-bye."

"Bye Chanyeol!" He hangs up.

I smile and start driving to Baekhyun's place.
