My alarm went off; it was 7:30 AM. I reluctantly got out of bed and head into my bathtub. I took off my PJs and set the water degree to hot then I added a little cold water. I placed the tip of my pinky in and felt it. Perfect. I slide in and picked up my scrub and brushed every part of my body. I poured some shampoo on my hair and massaged my scalp gently. I got up standing straight on the tub. I turned on the shower above me as the water dripped smoothly on me, it rinses off the soap on my body. I took my towel and wrapped it round my body.

‘Where's the dang hair blower?’ I yelled. ‘Why don't you check under your bed?’ I heard mom suggest from my door. I smiled and bent down poking my head under my bed. ‘Aha! I found it. Thanks mom,’ I said as I dried my hair and brushed it straight. I went downstairs entering the kitchen as I grabbed an apple from the counter. ‘What's for breakfast?’ I asked taking a huge bite from the apple. ‘What's your favorite breakfast?’

I caught a whiff of pancakes and syrup and a smile tugged my lips.  ‘What unicorn flew up your butt?’ I asked my mom who shot me a grin that went from ear to ear. ‘So my boss was so impressed with my resumes,’ I cut her off. ‘Isn't it a crime to emphasize the word so twice in a sentence?’ I teased. ‘Not the point, he gave me the job!’ she cheered. ‘I'm serious; there could be an English Grammar Police Department. EGPD,’ I teased once more causing her to frown. ‘I mean Congratulations,’ I smiled and gave her a bear hug. ‘He even said I might be one of his favorite employee,’

Favorite? I hope she didn't ...

‘What do you mean favorite?’ I asked, glaring at her angrily. ‘Oh, it's not that!’ she said smacking my back. I sighed a bit relieved till she said: ‘Either way, I wouldn't mind.’

I nearly had a heart attack. ‘You can't be serious!’ I practically yelled. ‘It's been 5 years since your dad left and... I can't suffocate myself by dying alone.’ she said. I scoffed at what she said, ‘You can go around f××king married businessmen, I'm going to school!’ I spat before walking out of the house. I entered my Ford and tried starting it but of course it failed almost 3 times. I finally got it started and drove off.

I had 5 minutes to get to class so I had to jump through my window. I'm so sick. I ran through the hall as quick as I could then I arrived. I barged through the door interrupting the class. ‘Ms Lloyd, you're late.’ Mrs Williams said with a frown. ‘Er, yeah. I-I was coming to school when an abandoned cat was almost hit by a car but I save it and got injured.’ I smiled at my brilliant lie. ‘If that were true, why aren't you bleeding?’ she continued. ‘Does a mosquito bite count?’ I said while the class burst into laughter. My eyes finally lock with a strange one, it was sparkling green. ‘Since you have become a joker, why don't you entertain me in...’ she paused. ‘Ugh, no.’ I said. ‘Detention!!!’ she screamed.

I frowned and sat on the only empty seat left, one next to sparkling green eyes dude. As I sat down and watched Mrs Williams teach, I could feel his stare making an imprint of his signature on me. I turned to look at him, he was still staring at me, like he was lost in a trance. ‘Hi, I'm Brine Lloyd. What's your name?’

He kept staring like a lost puppy, ‘Ok.’ I muttered and turned my head back at Mrs Williams.

How could someone with such magnificent eyes be so ... WEIRD?

‘Alaric Drought.’ he said and his voice was so velvet.
