Chapter 1- An Angel

I sleepily stretch my arm out towards my alarm clock attempting to silence the ear piercing beep of it. "Nn-Shut up,shut up" I mutter as my hand desperately tries to pinpoint the off button. Finally I locate it and shut it off but I was a bit too late because it seems I've woken up my little brother. I can hear his little footsteps running towards my bedroom. He swings open my door with a little frown. "Tarou,why do you always get up this early!? Your alarm always wakes me up too!" He whines. As I get out of my bed he climbs into it.

"Ken,you're eleven,sleep in your own room!" I sigh. My little brother's favorite pastime is sleeping in my bed. Don't quite know why but sometimes I wish I could have my bed to myself. I start undressing and putting on my uniform. "You don't have to leave until eight." He says sleepily. "I know,but Mitsuki always leaves at 6:30! I gotta be out the door by then or I won't be able to walk with her. She's so cute in the morning,I wouldn't dare miss seeing her." I smile dreamily as I do my tie. "Why? She's not even pretty...also known to be a creep." He gives me a snarky smile. "I bet she's a witch..." He scoffs.

Maybe I overreacted a bit...okay,maybe I overreacted alot. I slam my hand down next to his head. "Ken...I plan to marry this girl. I wouldn't insult her if I were you." I whispered to him. Ken's eyes widen and he quickly looks away. "Tarou.." He sits up. I quickly moved my back. "Kenjiro I'm sorry,I wasn't trying to scare you." I reach out towards him but he's clearly not interested. He pushes my hand away. I don't say anything,I just stand up and leave the room.

My little brother has always hated Mitsuki. Ever since I was six she bullied me and as soon as Ken turned four he started to hate her because of it. I didn't mind the bullying though. I always excused it because it was Mitsuki,a girl I was very much in love with. Even back then I had deep feelings for her. It all started when she saved my life.

When I was 6 I moved from Tokyo to Hokkaido with my mom. She was pregnant and wanted Ken to grow up in a more organic place. I was made to go out and make some friends and somehow found my way to the pond near the woods. I don't remember exactly what happened but I fell in. I remember the suffocating feeling of water filling my lungs,I remember desperately flailing my arms in an attempt to swim,I remember reluctantly accepting my fate...until suddenly I was yanked out of the water. It was dark after that. Dark until I saw her.

My eyes peeled open and that's when I saw her. A beautiful girl,no,an angel. It was the first time I had felt my heart flutter the way it did. Big round honey brown eyes,long thick lashes,cute purple pigtails,and and adorable smile spread across her rosy pale face. She was perfect. She helped me up and uttered the words "I'm Mitsuki,who are you?" I was caught off guard by her bluntness. "I-Im Tarou!" I nervously sputtered. She looked me up and down before putting her hand out to me. "Welp,looks like I saved your life Tarou! We need to make a deal...hm.." She set her index finger on her lip and tapped her foot. "Deal?" I asked curiously. "Ah got it! Since I saved your life you belong to me for the next eleven years!" She looked pretty proud of herself. My eyes wandered as a I thought through her words. "Eleven? Belong to you? My mommy wouldn-" She cut me off. "It's okay,you can go home to your mommy all you want. Just be their when I need you. Like when I wanna test stuff on you." She smiles and puts her hand out again "Deal?" I grabbed her hand and gave it a firm shake. "Deal!"
