Chapter 1 - Begin

13th of June 2013

"Today is the day!!" Jungkook thinks to himself, stepping out onto the stage. Bright lights blind him from the cheering crowd and the nerves suddenly hit, but the sight of Yoongi standing so stoic beside him is a pleasant reassurance. 

The music starts and they step into position, going through the choreography they'd practiced a thousand times before. When Yoongi starts rapping Jungkook feels blood rush to his cheeks. Although he's heard it plenty of times in the studio, hearing it performed in front of so many people makes him seem even more imposing.

Backstage the members come together to congratulate each other and Namjoon comforts Seokjin, in tears from an inevitable wardrobe malfunction. Yoongi sidles up to Jungkook, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"You did well, Jungkook. I'm proud of you."

Jungkook smiles, big bunny teeth on display.

"Thanks, hyung. You did great too."

Yoongi nods, his ears reddening slightly. He walks away and scolds himself internally for the way his heart skips a beat. Jungkook is a minor, for god's sake. 

1st September 2013

Jungkook's 17th birthday. The group spend the day shooting for an upcoming music video, and in between scenes organise a small party for their maknae. The plan is for them to pull a prank on him in order to distract him and make him stay longer while the other members prepare the cake.

Yoongi picked out the cake specially: it's vanilla flavored with fruit, icing and long colourful candles they'd bought for the occasion. He hopes Jungkook will like it as he walks towards the room where they have planned the event. 

"Happy birthday to you~ Happy birthday to you~ Happy birthday dear Jungkookie~ Happy birthday to you~" The members and staff cheer out as Yoongi approaches them with the cake. Tears well up in Jungkook's eyes at the sight. He is so touched and emotional. 

The members gather up around him and to comfort and congratulate him. Yoongi can't help but smile at how cute he is but also feel slightly guilty for making Jungkook cry. He makes eye contact with the youngest and flashes him a bright gummy smile. Jungkook blushes intensely and looks away, trying to hide his bunny smile.

"That gummy smile is gonna be the death of me..!" Jungkook whispers to himself, still blushing.

 "That bunny smile is gonna make me die young-I swear to god if he doesn't stop--" Yoongi tells himself, screaming internally.

25th of December 2013

For Christmas BTS film a video for their fans. Jungkook looks cute, in his ugly Christmas sweater and reindeer ears, and Yoongi has to stop himself from staring the entire time. 

Offset, the members exchange gifts, little things they'd bought for each other over the course of the week. Yoongi gifts Jungkook a pair of Timberlands, as he's noticed their maknae staring at them longingly each time they go shopping. In return he gets homemade cookies.

"I made them specially for you, hyung." Jungkook says, showing off his bunny teeth. There's a light pink blush on his cheeks that Yoongi finds endearing. "You need to eat more these days." 

Later at night, when Yoongi is sitting alone eating the cookies, he can't help the frustration that rises in his chest. "Just one more year. One more year until I can love him freely."
