Just the Begining

Kai walked into the classroom timidly, his short length bleach blond hair in a total mess. "Please introduce yourself" Kai cleared his throat "hello, I'm Kai I'd love to get to know all of you and hopefully we can all grow to be friends." He smiled sweetly and sat in the seat beside Ari, feeling slightly drawn to her bag. Kai quickly wrote up a note to Ari.

'Hi, I'm Kai I hope we can be good friends... also I need to speak to you in awhile I trust that you shall meet me in the back of the school around lunch... thank you.'

Ari opened the letter and read it becoming slightly scared. "Hey let me read!" Chess whispered from the inside of Aris bag still under his curse. Ari nodded and handed him the note trying to pay attention to class. Chess read the note and his eyes widened "Kai... Ari you must speak with him soon!" Ari groaned "ok ok I will after class now hush" Chess quieted down and class went on as normal. The lunch break started and Ari and her friends went behind the school meeting the blonde boy. "Good you showed up... with friends..." Kai groaned "never mind that... may I please see in your bag?" Ari got very defensive "n-no! You can't!" Chess struggled but managed to get out of the bag. "Kai is it really you!" Chess was overwhelming with joy as he flew over in front of Kai's face. "Uh! Tubby!" Ari got fairly angry at Chess and his unusual irrational behavior. "Their calling you Tubby now?" Kai giggled and cupped his hands letting Chess sit on them. "Yeah yeah I know it's degrading" Chess smiled up at Kai. "They kept saying you were dead but I knew it couldn't be true... you'd never just leave me like that..." Chess looked up at the teary eyed Kai worried "Hey careful... I can practically see all the hopeless energy on you." Kai teared up "well it's difficult to have hope... especially when my powers aren't working anymore my rings even lost its shine." Chess grabbed Kai's hand and looked at his ring "w-we need to fix this!" Chess was furious with worry looking into Kai's eyes. Ari looked at Kai and all she wanted to do was help him, it was at that moment she transformed into a magical girl in a fully pink sailor uniform with pastel blue and yellow accents. "Woah! Cool I look like an anime character!" Kai smiles "you look great Ari" Chess smiled lovingly in a sense "you really do." Kai looked at chess and most of the hope turned hopeless 'he loves her... he could never love a burned out jerk like me... I can't even use my magic...' The hopeless demon on his back grew larger. "Hey don't you worry Kai you'll get your hope back, I KNOW IT!" Ari smiles sweetly at Kai. Kai smiled and his ring regained some glow 'yes... I know I'll get my spark back! I know it!' "Kai please get some hope... Chess needs the hope to break his curse..." Suha said a sad tone in her voice. 'Uh... Chess needs hope to turn back to normal in that case... LETS GIVE HIM ALL THE HOPE I CAN!' Kai smiled and closed his eyes saying a special chant and growing into an adult, his former purple sweater that goes down to his knees being on, with his black shorts a slight gloss being on his lips and his fox ears and nine tail coming out. All three of the girls were in awe and Chess he turned into his human form. "Chess... you're back! You're back to normal!" Kai smiled and hugged his beloved childhood friend. Chess was extremely happy and hugged him back picking him up as if he weighed nothing. "Still light as a feather I see" Chess smirked and Kai giggled blushing a bit. "Yeah yeah I get it I'm a short dork" Chess smiled. "I really did miss you doll" Kai blushed a bit. "I-I missed you too darling..." Chess blushed and smiled looking into Kai's eyes. "WOAH WOAH WOAH! Doll?!?! Darling?!?!? Are you two TOGETHER!?!?!?!" Kai and Chess both blushed and said in unison "together?!?! What! No way we would never he had a fiancé! What? I don't have a fiancé, you don't!" Both of them looked shocked and a bit nervous. "I uh... I thought you and Shuel..." Kai's expression saddened and he looked down at Chesses chest. "No... after queen bitchy said I was dead she gave her to Trump they've been collecting hopeless energy..." Kai's eyes widened "she's on HIS SIDE!" Chess nodded and giggled a bit at the cute yet furious expression on Kai's face. "She... is?" Ari asked looking to the girls a bit sad. "Yes... however I thought you and the prince were in 'love'" Chess said sadness in his eyes. "No it turns out my eyes have been on another... you see I-... I felt finding you was more important." Chess was happy but his expression shifted "what if you had never found me..." Kai was extremely upset by Chesses actions "how could you say something like that.... I had to find you I knew I did... I had to.." Kai started tearing up and Chess instantly noticed "uh Kai I'm so sorry please forgive me" Chess pulled Kai closer gently petting him "can Kai stay with me at your house Ari?" Ari smiled turning back to her child form "of course! Though maybe you should turn into an animal if possible." Kai smiled "done" he snapped his fingers and turned into his nine tail form staying in Chesses arms. "Heh... adorable... thank you Ari he's gonna be on your team after all." Chess smiled and continued petting Kai, Ari was happy that Chess finally had someone to feel the way she did about Trump, at least she thought he did until he started making fun of the innocent cutie. "Tubby stop being mean to him!" Ari and the girls along with Kai giggled "HEY THATS RUDE!" Chess yelled keeping a loving yet tight grip on Kai. They got to Ari's house and went inside avoiding her parents. Kai started playing with Ari's pup staying on Chesses lap as he sat on the floor. "Thank you again Ari, this is great!" Ari smiled "of course anything for a friend!" Ari went into the bathroom and changed into her PJ's. Kai looked at Ari and smiled a bit "can I be human while I sleep?" Kai asked "of course but you and Chess will have to sleep in the closet together." Kai blushed a bit "o-oh ok... that's ok with me if it's ok with Chess." Chess smiles and put a hand on Kai's head "I don't mind at all doll." Kai smiled and clapped his hands turning into his human-ish form only in a loose lavender off the shoulder night shirt going to his knees, along with a fluffy purple face mask. "What do you think?" Chess blushed like crazy and took his shirt off "you look adorable Kai now it's time for bed..." Chess went into the cramped closet and laid down as much as he could. Kai smiled and crawled into Chesses lap laying on him. "Goodnight Ari" Ari smiled crawling into bed "goodnight Kai!" Ari fell asleep quickly Kai following close behind. But Chess he stayed up keeping his arms around Kai... protecting him. "Don't worry love... I won't let anything happen to you again."
