So I'm aware that I said this book was ending, and it is.

I was just rereading the last oneshot I wrote and I really didn't wanna leave it unfinished. 

But, um... there is one bummer. This won't have any smut in it. Please, please, please don't hate me, it's just physically impossible for me to write smut anymore. I just... I just feel myself cringing when I write it? It's probably just my ace vibes or something.

Eventually, after what seemed like ages, the waiter finally arrived to their table with the food. Alex was busy on his phone, doing God-knows-what. Eliza's gaze was fixated on Maria and John, a smirk playing on her lips. Maria shot Eliza a glare. This isn't funny.

John watched the two with a raised eyebrow. "Is.. uh... everything alright?" he asked, frowning.

Eliza rolled her eyes at Maria and silently began eating. Maria forced a smile. "Of course everything's alright. Why wouldn't it be alright?"

"You two kept looking at each other weirdly."

"Yeah, well, we do that sometimes." Maria looked away from him and poked at her food with her silverware, not feeling hungry at all. 

She glanced up to see Eliza's expectant gaze on her. Eliza tilted her head as if to say, Well?

Maria sighed and swallowed back her pride, turning to John. "So... John. Can I ask ya something?" She fluttered her lashes, feeling like she wanted to die.

John looked at her curiously. Alex looked up from his phone, his attention suddenly on them. Eliza started smirking.

"Are you, um..." Maria felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment. "Are you doing anything tonight?"

Alex frowned. Eliza's smirk widened.

"No... I wasn't planning on doing anything. Why?" John blinked.

Maria took a small breath and forced a sweet smile. "I was thinking we could catch a movie, or go to dinner, or something."

John looked slightly taken aback. "Oh. Well, sure." He chuckled a little. 

Maria turned to look at Alex and Eliza. Eliza turned away with a small smile. Alex looked as if he might've ate something sour. Maria felt some pride swell inside of her. It was working. Alex was definitely jealous.

Maria took out her phone and slid it over to John, still smiling sweetly. "Put your number in and I'll text you."

"Okay." John began to put his number in.

Alex cleared his throat and stood up. "I'm not hungry," he muttered. He shuffled past Eliza and slid out of the booth, straightening up. "I'm headed back for the dorm."

(Did I ever mention this was a college AU? I don't think I did. lmao oops)

John looked up, staring at Alex with confusion. "Is everything okay?"
