Archie Carter and Ni' Anne Parker have known each other their entire lives. They would always be with each other until they started eight grade. Ni' Anne had found new friends and she was in with the popular kids, while Archie ended up getting known as a nerdy loser.
Ni' Anne POV
I turn a junior next year and so much has changed in the past four years. I ended up leaving my boring school life behind to become one of the popular kids. Doing that I had to get rid of a friend that I've known since we were in diapers. Everyone calls him a freak and I'm not sure why. I guess it's because he doesn't act like the fakes at this school. Maybe it's his light brown hair that compliments his hazel eyes. Or that he's not the tallest or the toughest guy around here. My thoughts get interrupted when my boyfriend calls my name.
"Ni, Niiiii, hey Nii are you in there" he repeats a bunch of time "Your such a dork" I tell him. Oh did I mention I'm dating the most popular guy here. His name is Hunter Harrington. Tall, perfectly buff, athlete, and "rich". Thank god the last bell rings. Oh no here goes again. "HEY GUYS PARTY TODAY AT 6 PM!" says Hunter. Everyone cheers.
Archie's POV
"HEY GUYS PARTY TODAY AT 6 PM!" says Hunter. Everyone cheers.
Does that guys ever shut up and stop screaming. I still can't believe that's the guy I lost my best friend to. Ni'Anne and I used to be so close, we would spend every weekend with each other and sleepover as kids. She left me as soon as eighth grade started for the "cool kids". I felt betrayed but I guess who doesn't want to be popular. Not me though I don't like the spotlight or attention. Ni'Anne's the girl everyone wants to be. Not too tall and not to short. Straight reddish brownish hair and eyes that compete with the ocean.
The only reason I'm glad we stopped being friends is that like this she won't get picked on like I do. I'm walking down the hall ways to get out of the school when someone bumps into me. I look up to see Mr. friend stealer. He shoves me against the locker and says "Watch where you're going freak, you got my shirt ruined" "Like I care about your shirt" Woops. Guess I don't know when to keep my mouth shut. I look up and realize he's about a whole foot taller than me. I see him balling his fist and I know what's coming next, so I close my eyes. But I don't feel anything. I open my eyes again and see Ni'Anne pulling Hunter off of me. "Let's go Hunt, he's not worth it" "Your right Ni, he doesn't even deserve to have me look at him," he tells her. "Wow I feel special" I mutter under my breath to see him glare at me. He leaves but not before shoving me into the lockers again and telling me "Next time you won't be so lucky" I quickly leave to school and go pick up my younger brother in my car.
