In the late 800's in a small England village, a wealthy man's daughter fell ill with a fever so devastating that doctors not only predicted that she would perish sooner rather than later, but they also would be heavily advised to keep away from her as whatever inflicted her has the potential to be contagious. However, not knowing if their beloved daughter would survive this fever, the man and his most beautiful wife disregarded the doctor's advice and stayed with their daughter throughout the remaining days of her illness, hoping to be there when she finally dies from this monstrous illness. Miraculously, instead of succumbing to the illness' power, the daughter made a full recovery within a week; the man and his wife were ecstatic. However, that is not to say things didn't change.

Subsequently after recovering from the fever, the daughter began exhibiting strange changes, such as growing a few feet taller and complaining about hunger more times than she was accustomed too. And as one may expect from someone complaining about hunger more than they are typically used to, the daughter's appetite also grew exponentially, eating more than 5x than what she normally would. But due to the man's ever increasing wealth, food was never a problem for him. However, no matter how much she ate, the daughter would continuously complain about a terribly gnawing hunger eating away at her. The man and his wife was at a lost, not even the doctors had a logical solution to her ailment.

The daughter would continue to wail and cry over her hunger until one day, she mysteriously stop. On this day, both the man and his wife disappeared suddenly without a sound, and the daughter stayed shut inside her house for a total of 2 weeks. Once she emerged from her house, her parents were nary to be found and evidence of where they went or what was the cause of their disappearance were next to nonexistent.

After the disappearance of her parents, the daughter had ceased any and all complaining, wailing, and moaning about hunger, and around this time also, a string of disappearances began to crop up in the small town in similar fashion to the daughter's parents. It eventually reached the point where people were requesting audiences to the mayor of the town to do something about this epidemic, and while many cited to execute the daughter for the reason of the disappearances, there weren't enough damning evidence to call for her execution... that was until one day, someone had walked in on her stuffing her aunt down her throat.

The town was ablaze with rage as they finally found the crucial piece of evidence that was needed to execute the daughter, and the mayor ordered for her execution immediately. On March 12th, 889, the woman known as Anna Grimm Walker was hung in front of 1,000 people.

Now knowing that word of this incident would spread quite quickly through the land, the mayor ordered that the truth of Anna's execution be hidden, that her execution would be because of a string of murders rather than her devouring people. And while news of this particular incident did indeed spread quite quickly, the ailment that originally inflicted Anna spread even faster and strings of disappearances began to show up in the world throughout history even to today, but due to the true origins of the ailment being hidden from the world, nobody ever thought to point to the women.

Now, while the vast majority of the world's population remain ignorant about this underbelly epidemic, various women in the world began to see the signs of their transformation and decided to keep it a secret from the world as they knew that they won't be so accepting of this development. The act of keeping this ability a secret has become so ingrained that even a woman's family, even the women in the family, will be ignorant of the ability until they are old enough to swear to keep it a secret. They had become so dedicated to keeping their secret ability hidden from the world that people who attempt to research the disappearances eventually disappear themselves, women becoming afraid that their ability will become known to the world.
