Chapter 42: You're Mine

* Karri's POV *

I walked into the house turning on the lights. Peter walked up to me & grabbed my hand.

Peter: Everything that's happened...

I cut him off putting my hands in the air.

Karri: We don't have to talk about it anymore.

Peter: Listen!

I stared at him waiting for him to get his point across.

Peter: Like I was saying, we've been through a lot but no matter what we aren't going anywhere. Your my best friend, my everything. I can always count on you before anybody else, you have no idea how much that means to me. I love you Karrington...

I cut him off once again & hitting his chest.

Karri: Now Peter, you know I don't like people calling out my full name.

Peter: & you know I'll do it again because it's as beautiful as you. I wanna live everyday & know I did a great thing. The only great thing left to do is this...

He said pulling out a small white box & opening it. In front of me was the dream ring I told him I wanted. A 20 carat white diamond in the box staring right back at me. I placed my hands across my mouth in complete shock.

Karri: Peter...

Peter: What I'm trying to know is will you marry me?

I glanced around & nodded my head smiling ear to ear.

Karri: Yes, Peter I'll marry you.

Peter: Good.

He said smiling & putting the ring on my finger. I jumped up while he grabbed me in for a hug. Picking me up & walking me outside to the whole family looking back at us. I had no idea they had been waiting for the announcement.

Peter: She said YES!

He screamed & I held my hand out for them to see the ring. I turned around & gave him a kiss while they clapped for us.

Peter: I love you.

Karri: Love you more.

The loss of our offspring only brought us closer & made us realize the more important things to life like... true love. There ain't no mistaking the love we have. It's rare cause not too many can say they've got the bond we have. It was the beginning to a different, but happier chapter.
