I'm restless. I know that I fucked up my own sleeping schedule by staying up until 5 am basically every Saturday to keep up with Dungeons and Dragons. I don't care how stupid it sounds because I already am fully aware. Now, I lay in bed. The pitch black room left my imagination to wonder, the only noise filling the room was my fan. I roll over to my side to check my phone to see it dead. I rub my eyes as I search blindly for the cord with the rubber cat that protects it from getting bent. I quickly find it, plugging my phone in. I hear a faint creak from my window but, of course, it was probably the wind, so I pass it off as such. The tapping noise that came from behind my head was the effect of my fan blowing against the curtains, blowing it back and forth, hitting the wall every couple of seconds.
I don't know when it stopped, but as soon as I got used to it, it was gone. I didn't know what stopped. The faint tappping behind my bed? Or even the sound of the fan whirring infront of it. My mind roams to every possibility, my head burried under my covers in cowardice. For what it felt like was hours, I lift my head up and search for the light switch. With a quick motion, the light flickered on and my eyes sweeped the room. Nothing. Nothing but some notebooks that I had left the night before lay on the ground, and yet I still felt 100 eyes rest on me. I suppose I could just plug in a nightlight I think to myself, feeling like I had just come up with a brilliant invention. I made my way over to the plugs beside my bed, eyes heavy from the sleepless night that she had pushed through like a warrior that, rather than fought the dragon, hid from it, miles away. After plugging in the nightlight, I flick the lights off and plunge into bed, burrying my body under the mass of 2 comforters and a pillow. I slowly drift off to sleep...
Tap.
My eyes flutter open, confused by the sudden, faint noise.
Tap tap.
My head rises and I feel... warmer. I reach to grab for my phone when I feel a quick, hot wave wash over my hand.
taptaptaptap.
I peep my head out of my covers to complete darkness. I fumble for my phone and quickly turn on the flashlight, a quite common thing I did when it was dark and I was scared.
I was more terrified by the size of what I saw. It filled my body with fear and paralyzed me. Pale, grayish skin on a large, bony body that even if it were to crouch, it's head would touch the ceiling. No, it wasn't big or beefy, but it was lanky and had a few long, pointy, spider-like limbs that towered over the bed. Some resting on the ground and some right above me, surrounding me in a cage of horror. The jaws opened as it saw the blinding light of my phone, revealing serraded, sharp teeth. It was like looking into the mouth of a shark. A shark that towered over you and it's jaw unhinged to make an unholy shriek. I see the legs swiftly move and I instantly feel 3 things peirce me in 3 different areas- My arm, my stomach, and my thigh. I scream in agony as it picked me up and I see my phone recieve a text from a close friend, probably asking me when I was free to play overwatch again. Then, nothing(Sorry if this is bad- I wrote this at 4 am whilst shaking- My head isn't very clear right now, and writing this is kind of like a vent)
