Chapter 5: Blood (血液)

As you and tanjiro made it to town at night. Tanjiro was befuddled by how advanced the town he was reported to is.

It didn't make you laugh as much but you chuckled from his expression being hysterical.

You looked down at your hand being entwined with his, and you just remembered that he hasn't let go of it since day.

He's still holding my hand...

"...are you surprised?" You asked.
"There's just so many tall buildings. The cities...the cities..."

Tanjiro and you kept walking around. You look and see that nezuko looked sleepy and was trying to stand.

"Is she going to be okay?" You asked tanjiro.
"Oh, yeah she'll be fine. Uh, let's go this way" tanjiro drags you and nezuko to an alleyway. You cringed a tiny bit.

A little side note about you is that you didn't really enjoy being pulled with force like that by anyone, unless there are serious situations, but anyways. As soon as you guys made your way in, there was a couple making out.

Tanjiro had a flushed face, while you just looked bored.
"I-I beg your pardon!"
You all got out of the alley and started running in another direction.

You looked at tanjiro's face and he looked worried. You wondered what was he in such a hurry for?

Soon you three got out of the bright light city and came across a bench near an udon cart.
"Excuse me. A bowl of udon with grated yam on top please" tanjiro said.
"Uh, sure thing! And for you miss?"
"Uhm, I guess the same?"

You were never really picky with food so much, but if you had to choose what your favorite food would be, it would be dangos.

You never understood why people find it surprising for someone who would be terrifying but loves colorful sweets.

If anything you were only sharing your interest.

You were sitting besides tanjiro, feeling weird about this little moment you were having with him, besides nezuko being around but she obviously didn't care.

"I've never been to a place like this. It's way too crowded, don't you think?" tanjiro said.
You nod.
"I rather quite like the quiet atmospheres more really. Plus, this is the first time I've been this close to anyone like this honestly" you said.
"What do you mean?" Tanjiro looks at you confused.

Nezuko leaned to tanjiro's shoulder and rests her head. He looks at his sister and smiles. You look at the scene and smiled a little to.

You then looked down at your hand and see that he had his on top of yours. You frowned slightly. One of your fellow pillars told you this once before.

Mitsuri, a girl you know who claimed to be your "closest" friend, though she was just annoying you to be one. But you can't always be mad at her since she's always had a good playful heart.

She had once told you before when you two were eating together, that when a guy is showing affection to a girl there are signs. And tanjiro was showing one of them.

At first you refused to take any of her advice since you made a vow before that you wouldn't waste your time finding anyone ever again.

But now, things are different, and you just didn't know anymore.

But little by little, mitsuri was really helping you understand what affection is and feels like. Even though she was being a pain in the ass and was trying to hook you up with random guys before for fun.
