This is a story of two lovers who were separated because of their family and they began to have a forbidden relationship with each other till one of them died after singing a song called The Melancholy love song to her.

In the town of bloomsberry, there were two family of high status. One was the Dinker family, who had a daughter called Isabella Dinker and the other was the Wolcot family that have a son called Jack Wolcot. The Dinker and the Wolcot had always been enemies and rivals due to both families wanted to be more powerful and wealthy than the other. Their children were sent to the most esteem Schools and Colleges there is in Bloomsberry.

However, when they are in college, Jack and Isabella became more than close friends even though their parents had forbid them when they were in junior school. But since then, the both lovers had been secretly meeting up after college to continue their forbidden relationship. Isabella, whose hair are like the dark night but with beautiful and enchanting black eyes and her lips are sweet and red as of a rose. Jack, however, was a charming and dashing young man with eyes as blue as the ocean, hair as blond as the seashore of Dover Beach and he had a face that as Isabella said, "were carved by the finest hands of the creator." On Sundays, Isabella's family went to church as they were of catholic faith while Jack's family was an atheist, which means that, Jack doesn't believe in God or having any faith. Isabella was sad and wonder why Jack never believe in God or have any religion. This is one of the reason why Isabella's parents would not want her to get close or have a relationship with him.

Isabella believes that every people should come to know who is their creator and have faith in the church. She intend to save Jack for damnation in Hell's fire. One day, she told Jack that he should go to Church with her but at first he refused, then with much love for Isabella and her persuasion, he accepted her invitation. On a Saturday evening, Isabella bring Jack to a sunset mass at the Cathedral of St. George, where she usually attends with her family on Sundays. Jack was at first confused and felt weird and ask many questions but Isabella never fails to explain to him. But as he stared at the crucifix, a shock of jolt went straight into his head and a revelation was shown. He saw a terrifying revelation that make him scream out loud and he began to shake violently and eventually, passed out. Isabella was shocked and scared at the same time. After the mass had ended, Isabella try to wake Jack but before she even touched him, he woke up as from a sleep. Isabella ask why was he screaming but he never answered her. Isabella doesn't mind that he wouldn't let her know because she value his privacy.

On the Valentine's day of 1998, Jack had eventually wrote and composed a song using his favourite guitar for Isabella as they were celebrating their 11th anniversary. He called this song, The Melancholy Love Song because it seems to fit the music somehow. On that night, both lovers met at one of the most romantic bridge in the town called the bridge of eternal love. This was normally the bridge where their parents once met and celebrated their anniversaries too. When Jack told Isabella that he had composed a song for her, she became excited and anxiously waiting for him to sing to her.

As he was singing, a tear stream down her eyes because the song was beautiful and sad at the same time. As he finished singing, Jack kneeled on one knee and hold out a ring and propose to her. Before she could said I do, their parents arrived at the scene. Frighten and shocked, both parents tried to separate both lovers but Isabella wouldn't let go of Jack's hand and he wouldn't let go too. Jack told his parents that he had been convert to Catholic behind their back to have a new life with Isabella, but his parents failed to understand him and thought this a betrayal by their son, his father broke his favourite guitar and ripped up the song sheets and threw them into the waters below. Jack told his father that he can follow any path in his life as he wanted to. Even if he wanted to spend his life with Isabella. Enraged by anger, his father took the engagement ring and threw it into the waters as well and this make Jack trying to retrieve the ring but although he got the ring in his hand, he had leaped off the bridge and into his watery grave below. This makes Isabella very sad and angry and she tried to fight her father who was carrying her away but to no avail.

Isabella spends her days locked away in the attic of The Dinker home. She still mourned for the loss of her lover, Jack. One day later, she escapes her imprisonment in the attic with the help of her servant maid. She ran all the way to the bridge where Jack died. As she was weeping terribly, the lost engagement ring floated up towards her and as she whispers "I do", Jack's spirit appears to her and kissed her and told her that he is in heaven. Tears filled her eyes and as he sang his song for the last time, Isabella took one big final breath and her soul flew out of her lifeless body and join Jack's. She was finally with him for eternity and she said to him, "I love you, Jack forever and ever." With that, both of them entered into heaven. One of the passerby, saw Isabella's dead body and threw it into the water below and her body was reunited with Jack's in the end.

They say if you ever visit the bridge of eternal love, you could hear Jack's voice singing The Melancholy Love Song and the whisper of Isabella's last words, "I love you , Jack , forever and ever. " They also said that the body of the lovers are never been surfaced but the folks of bloomsberry know that the body of the lovers are still decaying under the haunted bridge.
