Love Beyond The Grave

They said that love will part when death comes. But, one particular pair of lovers loved each other even death couldn't part them from one another.

In a village of Prio, there was a pair of lovers living there. The lady was called Carol Gunther and the man was Adam Pilbo. Both Adam and Carol had always been together and never once apart. The villagers think that they are a weird kind of couple. When they ask about how their relationship began, the lovers will answer them that fate had brought them together for a reason. The Villagers never had once believe in anything like fate or destiny and this has make the villagers suspicious upon both of them.

Despite all of this, the couple carry on with their everyday life. Adam always stands up for Carol when she was bullied by the women in the market square. That night as both of them are getting ready for bed, Adam noticed Carol couldn't sleep a wink because she was feeling very worried about a dream she had few nights ago. "My dear, are you alright? You seem very worried." He asked her while stroking her lush black hair and holding her in his arms. Carol paused for a moment, wiping her tears away and said, "Adam, I am frighten about the dream that I had few nights ago. I dreamt that I will die soon and that you will be left alone." She said as tears run down her eyes. Adam hold her close to him and kiss her forehead while stroking her hair and later, she fell fast asleep.

The next day, Carol woke up to find herself being carried by the Villagers and she began to panick because she fear what they are going to do to her. Adam saw her and rush through the crowd and as he tried to save her, he was stabbed in the stomach and he falls to the ground and was picked up by the Villagers too. After reaching a field, the Villagers set up a stake surrounded by hay as they wanted to burn them. They chained Carol to the stake and lay Adam near her feet. One of the Villagers light a torch and set the hay on fire and as that happens, Carol look up to heaven, hoping that God would have mercy and He eventually answered as she broke lose of the chains and hold her dying lover in her arms. "Was this what you have dreamt?" Adam ask her as he struggles to breathe. "Yes. An eternity with you." She said and kissed him. Finally, Adam breathe his last and died and Carol whispers into his ear and said, " I love you so much and death could never separate us." With that, she and Adam were consumed by the flame around them and their souls left their body.

That day the Villagers witnessed a love that is far beyond the grave and this shocked them and from then onward, the believe of fate and destiny began and although that village is abandoned for centuries but the stake where upon the lovers were burn is still there till this day.
