Ferris, a young girl, begged her parents to get her a dog, and at that moment it was all she wanted in her life. She wanted a dog more than anything, all the kids in her class had a dog, except her. After constant begging and pleading, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson took their daughter to the local animal shelter for her to pick a dog, thinking that she would pick a small cute one.

Ferris walked up and down the aisles of pens and cages looking at each and every single dog there was, stopping by to pet them. Not being content with any of the ones she had seen so far, she started to get upset at not finding the perfect dog she could show off to her friends. Right about as she was going to give up, she saw him. The dog she instantly fell in love with was huge, as easily as big as her. He had pitch black fur with light brown droopy eyes. The parents enjoyed their little girl's enthusiasm but were unnerved by dogs human-like eyes.

Knowing their daughter wanted that specific dog, they paid the fee, and then took the massive dog home, which Farris named Chip, after her favorite snack, potato chips. Chip and Ferris sat in the back seat of the Peterson's car, Chip laying his massive head on the little girl's lap as she petted him.

That night, while the Peterson family were eating dinner in the dining room, Chip started growling, facing the parents. This unsettled Mr. and Mrs. Peterson, shaking in fear, afraid of the possibility of the rather large dog attacking them. Ferris quickly shushed the dog, who lazily walked over to the young girl and laid down by her feet. This worried their parents.

When Ferris went to sleep for the night but woke up crying in the middle of the night, which woke up her parents. The little girl complained about a scary man in her room watching her. Thinking it was just a nightmare, her parents brushed it off, until they couldn't find Chip, and could hear footsteps roaming around the house, footsteps that weren't from a dog. Mrs. Peterson hid Ferris in the closet while Mr. Peterson went to their room to grab the shotgun he used for hunting. Ferris started to get scared sitting in the closet by herself, she was also scared of the man that was in their house, thinking that he hurt Chip.

Little did she know that the dog with the human eyes was the man in the Peterson household. Ferris covered her ears as the blasts of the shotgun echoed off the walls throughout the home. This caused the little girl to scream and the mother to gasp. The mother raced out of Ferris's bedroom and out into the hall, closing the door behind her, where she screamed, but after, came complete silence. The man's footsteps thumped down the hall to the bedroom. The doorknob jiggled before opening with a loud creak. The man slowly walked in, looking around. His breathing was the only thing that could be heard, Ferris tried her best to be quiet.

The man hunched over and transformed back into Chip right before Ferris's eyes. This frightened the young girl, her dog turned into a man that hurt her parents.

The next morning, the police were called because of the gunshots that were heard. When the police arrived at the Peterson house, all that was found were the two dead parents, mauled with their throats torn open, and the dog, who had sad, regretful eyes, but Ferris was never to be found.
