CARMEN:so after I curse out Nina which was long awaited I walk back home to be met with my mom's delicious smelling cookies.
"Mija? Is that you?"
I hear my mom ask from the kitchen, I walk to the kitchen to see her take out a batch of cookies from the stove and place them on the counter.

"Hola Mami"
I say and sit on the couch and turn on the TV.
"What happened Carmen?"
My mom asks as she turns her attention to me. When you first look at my mother, Leslie Cruz, you'd honestly think she's my sister or something but no, she just had me at 17 during her third year of high school. My dad. That's something for another time. She's the only one who stuck around with me is all I'm gonna say.

"Mami, I'm going to sleep, good night Mami te amo."
I say and hug my mother as I walk down the hall of our one floor home that's really cozy,
"Sweet dreams!"
I hear my mom shout as i walk away to my room.

I am woken up from my peaceful slumber by the sound of the irritating alarm clock next to me indicating I'm going to be late to school. I get up and get dressed and do my needs in the bathroom. I go outside to the kitchen and see my food on the table and my mom grabbing her bag and going to the door to work.

"Bye mi amor!"
I wave good bye to my mother and sit down to eat. My mom works at a diner. She's a waitress. But she works hard so she's very tired when he comes back. I finish eating and I start walking to school, I see a very familiar red car driving at my pace, I already know who it is without looking at the person.

"Hey mar, you gonna get inside?"
I sigh and get inside the car as Jose drives to school.
"So, we gonna talk about last night?"
"No."
I say and he just says a simple 'ok' and he turns on the radio where Wrong by Luh Kel starts playing and my doofus of a best friend starts singing.

"All by my side argue less talk I need you by my side"
I laugh and before I know it were parking at the parking lot (duh)!
"Well let's go mar,"
I sigh and follow Jose to school.

I'm right now at my history class and Jeremiah is sitting on right side of me looking down at his phone while I doodle the corner of my notebook, Jose is on my left and I look up to him and I know he feels my gaze and looks up at me and winks at me, I have no idea what goes through me but I feel my heart thump.

Talk about weird. I ignore it and look back down at my notebook and doodle some more. What was that?
