One Night..

Kaylee's POV..

Just like any other day, am in my office collecting files ,this was easier , my time to head back home .While on my way out I collide with Ammy...she is our secretary ,but of course my close friend ,we went to college together.We may have not been so close but life changes.

"Hey !" It was more like a halt not a greeting.

" what do you have for me Ammy?"i asked right away since it was obvious she had something for me.

"Your dad asked me to remind you on the last meeting file,he may need it after work."

"Oh.. i will send it to him right away."i had to be quick Daniel asked me to meet him immediately after work .

"And by the way ,you may as well carry it home with you ,he left earlier meeting Mr Buxton at the hospital,he thought it's been too long since he stopped by ."it was obvious my father would get to visit his bestfriend whenever he had the chance to.

"Thanks ..am leaving already, need a ride?"i always ride home with her when we are both on time unless one of us got some extra job to tend to.

"As much as i would love that..sorry I got plans ,and am here a bit longer "she gave me an apologetic look just like any when denying my offer.

"That's not much of a big deal, if only I had nothing to tend to...then i would force myself into those plans you have..."

"Mmmmh..another blind date ?"she gave me a questioning look.

"I didn't know you also go on blinds dates !,how comes you never told me?" I was a bit disappointed.

"I was asking you...seriously Lee I already have a boyfriend !"she was barely shouting at me.

"Oooh...not anymore, "i answered her previous question.

l had a few blinds date as my mother's idea since I was the hard to date kind.'At the age of 21 I had dated over 10guys already!'.that's what she said over and over to me .
Last week I decided to let one of my blind date take me on a real date ,hoping it will make a difference.Well he was too nice ,gentle ,handsome,tall,wealthy...the worst part is I wasn't moved at all ..He only talked of himself alot and it was annoying.

"Lets catch up later am in a bit of a hurry...see you later Ammy"i wave leaving.

"Yeah ..sure!"i had her say though already half way along the corridor.

I was not really that late but Daniel was already complaining as I parked my car heading inside.

"Seriously baby sis..this is special and I really insisted on the time,"he gave me an annoyed look as expected

"Come on bro.. it wasn't my fault anyway dad asked for something which held me back .."I hold my hand checking on the time
"Really!Danny it's only past 2min and u give me a look of 'U ARE AN HOUR LATE !'"I raised an eye brow

"But this was important Rene..it is special"that was with a bored look

"What is special?"I never thought it was another special day for me,so nothing was in mind.

"You really have no idea??"he gave me a worried look which made my nerves twitch a bit.I shook my head still thinking..just before i thought further he took my hand in his pulling me in the house I call home.

"Come on the clock is ticking ,i don't want to waste more time out here "

Though still puzzled I was excited knowing it was something special.As we open the door to the living room ,i was forced to step back in shock ,there were deafening shouts and it did not take long till I was aware of what was happenning

"Happybirthday sis"my mouth went wide open in surprise

"Holy shit!"how on earth could I forget my own birthday.i hugged my brother then mother .unfortunately my father was not yet home

"Thanks guys"it was all thanks to my family and friends my day was going to be fun I thought.
"But where is dad?"i asked looking at my mom

"He should be here sooner ,i will call him .go a head and blow the candles we are all waiting to have a test of the cake."she said taking her phone probably calling my father
A few minute passed since mom went calling dad when we had a sharp scream from the next room and something fall.Daniel left too fast heading to where the scream was from.

"MOM!"i shouted worried running behind my brother.

Our mom was on the flow so damn pale it scared me to death.

"Mom! What's wrong?"Danny asked shaking mom's shoulders slowly .

"He can't die now it's not happening ,please tell me it's all a lie.."she was now crying tears dripping too fast to be held back .

Still astounded my mind processed the news fast enough that I now could only see darkness alone as I felt my head hit the floor too soon not ready to face the reality that I held in my concious.
