The bands set had ended and another went on stage. You and your brother were a few drinks in, talking to some friends in the back. You could actually hear each other's words. The sun had just set and the hanging lights lit up. You snuck in a look of them in between sentences.

Derek: "Well look here, you actually got your sister to show up!"

Jason: "Yeah, I wish she would just tell me to my face I'm a loser.."

You smacked Jason's arm and shot Derek a look.

You: "I fell asleep okay!? I don't go out much, cut me some slack. It's not like I go to some other dudes local band night and not yours!"

The group around you laughed and Jason grabbed your drink out of your hand, teasing you. He held it over your head for a moment, and then would move every time you chased it. He finally gave in and handed you your drink back.

You took a sip of your drink and and an arm flung over Jason's shoulder. You were caught off guard to see that brunette boy from on stage, now hanging on your brother. The smell of sweat and delightful cologne wafted in your nostrils at his presence.

Jason: "Tyler!" he roared.

Tyler: "Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for having us on tonight. It was a good show."

You took a gulp of your drink and tried not to stare at Tyler, so you awkwardly looked away. Everyone was talking to somebody else at this point. You felt like an awkward puppy at your brothers shoulder.

Jason: "The show was awesome dude.." your brother continued.. "Tyler, this is my little sister (y/n).. I actually made her come tonight just to see you guys.."

You felt awkward and embarrassed on the inside, but the few drinks you had made that hidden. Tyler's eyes looked over at you, for what had seemed like the first time all night. His brown eyes were wide, and kind.

You: "You guys sounded incredible.." you nodded to Tyler while still nibbling at your drink.

Tyler: "Jason, are you paying her to say that?" Tyler said as he smiled at you, with a light chuckle.

Jason: "If you know my sister, you know you can't pay her to say anything!" you all laughed.

You furrowed your brows and looked at the two boys.

You: "Hey! I'm not sure if that was an insult or a compliment.."

They both laughed again. Tyler studied your (y/hair color) hair. They way it sat on your shoulders. Your skin looked so alive and soft next to the bright white of your shirt. You had a glimmer in your eye while you laughed.

Jason got pulled into another conversation and had to handle some band stuff. So there you were left with Tyler. You figured he would just walk away from you, but he stayed..

A friend handed him a drink, and he over the shoulder thanked them. The crowd was getting tighter so he stepped in closer to you. You were face to face now, with not much room in between the two of you. You enjoyed that subtly delightful cologne closer to your nostrils.

Tyler: "So you really liked it?" he said with a smile and slight jokingness to him.

You: "Yes I really liked it.." you gave him a cute wide eyed look. "To be honest, I got a little emotional... your lyrics..are unbelievable Tyler"

Tyler cocked his head a little bit, half sassy and half astonished.

Tyler: "So you did actually listen.." he squinted his eyes at you. He pursed his lips.

You looked at him sassily and lightly offended.

You: "What do I look like to you? What kind of person do you think I am?" you made a light hearted shocked look.

Tyler: "I don't know (y/n).. some girls come up to me and try to compliment me to impress me.." he said playfully as he sipped his drink.

You: "Let's remember YOU came up to me.." you chuckled.. "and I'm not some girls.." you said back with an undoubtedly flirty tone.

Your drink was gone, so you reached over and grabbed Tyler's. You took a sip in front of his face and handed it back to him. You then tapped him on the shoulder and moved past him filing through the crowd.

Well played, you thought to yourself.
