# Ashton POV #

I woke three hours later. It was 6.30am. I checked my phone, as I did every morning. There was a text from Ms. Greene saying that school was continuing today, which I was fine with and a text from my mom.

Mommy😊❤️: hi honey! Hope everything's okay in the big apple! Hope your having good fun! Tell lUke Liz says hi, she lost her phone:( love you lots sweetie xxx

It was such a mom text.

I texted back quickly with a few 'I'm fine''s and 'Luke says hi too' even though I hang talked to him in hours and an 'I love you too' at the end. Momma's boy, whoops.

I shook Calum awake and raced into our bathroom before he beat me to it.

I stripped and showered before pulling on a red flannel button down, navy chinos and an old pair of Nikes. I towel dried my hair and stuck a beanie over it.

Calum stormed into the bathroom as soon as I left it and bolted the door angrily.

I made my bed and walked into the kitchen. I was the first one awake. I banged on Michael and Luke's door to make sure they were awake and poured myself some coco pops.

Michael exited his bedroom wearing a Jack Daniels tank top and skinny jeans with fully black Converse. He brushed his fingers through his bleach blonde hair with a black streak and sat down.

"Hey dude," Michael said, picking up an apple and biting a chunk out of it.

"Hi." I mumbled, my mouth full with coco pops.

"How did you sleep?" Michael asked, swallowing some of his apple.

"Really nice," I remembered my night, talking to Cliff and annoying Cal with her. After that, she made my sleep amazing. So peaceful and nice. I forgot about being on a whole different continent to my family, which had bothered me before I made the decision to finally come to New York.

"Cool, but by the way, I don't really care." Michael sneered. He was always moody in the morning and suffered jet lag the most out of the four of us.

"Sorry, bro." I finished my cereal without a word and started for school. As we didn't have a car or take a bus, we walked, which was fine since I walked to school back in Sydney and the school was close to the apartment. It also meant I didn't have to wait for the boys. I liked to be in school early enough because I nearly always forgot things for classes so it gave me more time. Also I knew Cliff would be in early, looking after her sports teams or leading lost freshmen around as she was head girl.

I was right. As I arrived in the school gates ten minutes later, I instantly recognised Cliff's cream Mini Whirlwind parked in her usual spot. She was at the trunk of the car lifting her school bag and a shoulder hobo satchel. I rushed over to her.

"Hey," I smiled, shutting the trunk of her car for her.

"Thanks." She blushed, like she always did. She was so cute.

"How did you sleep? You know, after we talked." I asked, walking with her into the school.

"Great. You make everything so much easier, like you take my mind off things, you know?" She whispered.

"Lauren used to say the exact same thing." I remembered. My little sister loved my company and fell asleep quickly when I was with her.

"Aww, I bet she misses you." Cliff smiled.

"Yeah, I miss her. And Harry." I breathed. We had arrived at Cliff's locker. The locker room was empty.

"Hey, guess what?" She shrieked suddenly.
