'I choked back my flowers...
I choked back my love'

My hand was placed firmly over my mouth, I felt sick. The way he looked at me, it wasn't hate and it wasn't love. It was like he was looking through me...as if I was a ghost. My heart squeezed painfully at the thought, the rough scratching inside my lungs causing me to choke up. When it finally stopped, I slid in front of him, he made no comment. I doubt he even noticed me at first. The cafe was nice at least, warm on a day like this.

'All I want is a happily ever after
But...
I get sobs mixed with pained laughter'

There was silence as I watched him eye up the waitress he had been talking about for weeks now. I giggled playfully and poked his shoulder, though inside I wanted to burst into tears.
"You're staring Kacchan!" I whispered to him, his face lit up in a light blush as he let out a quiet huff. I smirked and leaned my head against my right palm.
"You like her that much, huh?" He stayed quiet, the silence telling me my answer. Of course he did, she's all he ever talked about with me.

'The way you look at them
It makes me jealous'

"I mean, she is pretty. Her amber eyes and long black hair, the whole twin drills look she has going on? Solid ten." I felt myself wanting to puke, I wanted him to look at me like that. The way he was so enamored with her like there wasn't anyone else he would rather look at. The way he would let out a quiet, almost ethereal sigh when she did something he considered cute. How he could talk about her for hours and never once seem to get bored or annoyed, they weren't even dating and he would ramble on and on about her beauty.

'The way they're all you ever see
Maybe that's what makes you unaware
How much you're hurting me...'

He still hadn't responded and was staring into his cup. I was aware he wasn't too fond of cold drinks, so I assumed he got a coffee or hot chocolate. I remained quiet for a while before he looked up, his glaring red eyes holding slight desperation for once. He seemed unsure and I knew why, I placed my hand on the table, keeping my head upright with the other.
"You should ask her out on a date," He growled and looked out the window beside us.
"She doesn't even know me Dumbass." I chuckled quietly, so he CAN speak. I felt tears but hurriedly blinked them away, what's the point of making Kacchan feel bad? If he even cared at all for me, I don't want him to feel guilty. It wasn't his choice for me to fall in love with my best friend.
"I'll help," he looked back at me but didn't respond.

Even when the flowers grew and grew'

I smiled, though bitter and fake, with how lovestruck Kacchan was...he couldn't tell.
"Just 'cause you're a girl doesn't mean it'll work." I felt more flowers bloom and vines crawl up slowly inside my lungs, even as a friend he had no faith in me.
"It will, trust me. Just walk up to her, and compliment her. I know most guys compliment eyes and such, but trust me when I say this. You have to compliment her on her style a bit and then shoot your shot."
He rolled his eyes, taking a sip of his drink before placing it down once more. A swirl of heat rushing to my cheeks in a faint blush. The way he looked peaceful, not ready to kill someone, it was a blessing to see him this way.
"She is wearing a uniform," he commented. I smirked, though I felt more like I was drowning from the gentle look he gave.
"Then how about her bracelet or the bows in her hair?" He let out a grumble before standing up, leaving me alone with the drink he ordered. I reached over and ghosted my fingers against the mug before pulling them away, as I thought, warm. It was odd, how the warmth of the cup contrasted with the autumn breeze outside and how well it matched Kacchans eyes. They always seemed to be like glowing embers after a fire, melting me away and he couldn't even see it.
