To Love *The Maze Runner/Newt Fanfic*

Helloooo lovely people of Wattpad! I am finally giving you guys the Newt chapter that everyone has been wanting.

I'm writing this separate from the chapter because it is long but needs to be said.

I have a lot to say but I'm just going to try to get right to the point. *Some people aren't going to read this, BUT IT'S SO VERY IMPORTANT.*

A. Life isn't always sunshine and butterflies. What do I mean by this? I mean that the things that happen in life aren't always happy and people aren't always happy. And if I want a realistic story, that someone can relate to, then I can't write happy-go-lucky chapters all of the time.

B. If you've read The Death Cure, then you would know that Newt wasn't an entirely very happy character. I'm not trying to spoil anything, but he blatantly tells Thomas how unhappy he was back in the maze.

C. I don't believe that the thoughts, actions, and words that 'depression'/ sadness bring are right or 'the only option', But they are real feelings and real emotions.

And lastly D. I am in no way or form trying to lighten, lessen, or make fun of depression. My story is going to be a story of healing and love, but in order for that to happen there needs to be upsetting things. Eventually, I want my story to bridge into a lesson that can show a different side to this overpowering sadness.

I only write about things that I can somewhat understand.

AND VERY IMPORTANT, I'M NOT ROMANTICIZING DEPRESSION.

So please take the time to read that authors note. It's quite long but it rightfully needed to be so. And don't worry not every chapter is going to be quite like this. HAPPY TIMES ARE ALWAYS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.

SECOND. THIS STORY IS PRE-THOMAS BEING SENT INTO THE MAZE.

Many people are confused and tbh I'm like so sorry that I haven't entirely explained the whole 'whose being sent to this maze' fiasco. There are multiple girls and boys. The pattern that I've decided upon is: boy, boy, boy, girl.

Brianne is not the first girl, she is second to last actually.

NOT TRYING TO SPOIL

But the next newbies are going to be chuck, Thomas, and then Teresa. So, Teresa's arrival will still be breaking the pattern: They will expect a boy and get a girl.

Actually if anyone has a question y'all can ask me in this chapter. and I will do my best to answer. I'm bad at explaining things lol.
