Just a warning, this may be a bit sad because for once in my life, I'm actually getting to the meat of the story early on! I'm pretty happy with this so I hope you guys are too. Enjoy!
Shai's POV
"Hosuh Lee,"
"I'm here,"
"Is Hosuh here?"
Confused murmurs echoed around the classroom, causing me to tear my eyes from the window. Finally some drama. The kid who always shows up to class didn't seem to be here. At least to the mortals in the room. The grey haired teen sat in his seat, right next to mine in the back, confused. He waved his arm, trying to get the teachers attention as she scanned the classroom, trying to find the missing boy."Miss, Hosuh isn't here," Stephen raised his voice, the class looking at him with wide eyes. "He caught a cold so I sent him home."
"That's not true! I'm right here! Stephen! I'm right here!"
Stephen seemed to flinch slightly at what Hosuh had shouted but pretended not to hear. We both knew what was up. Hosuh no longer had a physical form. He had lost his necklace.I tapped the desk, gaining the attention of the boy before tapping my chest, and his bright blue eyes widened. His hand went straight to his own chest, paling as he had finally noticed. He slowly stood up, out of his seat, shaking. He muttered, "Thank you, Shai," before taking off, out of the window.
CRASH
The window had shattered with a deafening sound, the students in the class either screaming loudly or flinching at the noise. Either way, Hosuh's depart had gotten their attention.
"What was that?" Ivu questioned, shaking slightly from the shock. Like most of the other students, her eyes fell on me, since I was the closest to the shattered window. Great. Now everyone thinks that I broke it.
"Shai, was that you?" The teacher asked me, trying to stay calm. It was obvious that she was mad. I shrugged, resting my chin on my hand.
"How could I shatter a window?" I stated coolly. "It's physically impossible. Unless you throw yourself at it,""Could it be a spirit that broke the window?" Jamie suggested, heads snapping fearfully towards them.
"A spirit." I could hear Stephen scoff from the other side of the room, gaining glares from his classmates.
"Can't spirits interact with physical objects? What if one broke the window to either scare us as a class or one certain student?" Jay butted in, watching Stephen carefully. "Hosuh isn't here. The spirit could possibly be tied to him,"I could feel the room grow colder after the redhead had stated his theory. Everyone knew what it meant if a spirit was tied to someone. If they were tied, it meant that someone had attempted to save their life before the spirit died, tying its soul to them permanently. Although I knew that wasn't true, it was an ok theory to go off. I'll let them think that Hosuh's Earthbound spirit had tried to scare us in spite.

Hosuh's POV
My chair sighed as I sat down, sounding too real to my ears, even though I technically didn't exist anymore. It's only been a week and already, I've somehow lost my necklace. My charm. The one thing that made me human in this world. Without it, I will die.
I sobbed, choking back tears as I stood up, tearing down the cloth that covered the mirror. The cloth that covered me. Those glowing blue eyes stared back at me, even in the dark room. I scanned my appearance, two small but noticeable horns poking out from behind my fringe and imp-like wings curled by my side. I hated it. I had always hated how I truly looked.
"I knew it," a familiar voice cut through the silence, making me flinch. I slowly turned my head towards Stephen, who stood by my open door. He could see me. That thought terrified me. His eyes softened as he walked closer, wrapping his arms around me in a hug. Stephen could see me. He could touch me. He can't be a spirit, can he? "I don't care if you're a demon. I will help you find that stupid charm of yours."
