<<PLEASE READ UNTIL THE END>>

I stared at the blue static on the screen as I waited for the last tape to play. I was hooked watching these things, it was like a horror movie. You can't help but want to look away, but your eyes are glued to the screen. Her life mixed in with a world full of mystery, the danger of that mystery, taking hold of the reins as she films what exactly happened.

The VHS tape finally began rendering. The girl appeared on the screen, the last V.D. The girl in the darkness of the attic. She has her head down a pencil slightly in view. I press the worn-down play button, the paint faded and nearly gone; the video plays. As she finishes her writing her head turns towards the camera. Barely audible noise rings through the static she mouths, "I'm not alone anymore." Fear makes my mouth dry, scared for the well-being of the girl I felt close to, even though I never spoke nor even met with her. I adjust my headphones.

The girl moves her glance, moving ever so slightly out of view of the camera, pressing her ear to the floor of the attic. Looming in her position for a moment, she positions herself in front of the camera again, her voice barely heard as she quietly whispers, "It's further away now. I'll have to be quick." She takes her gaze to the paper she was writing on earlier, "Whoever is watching this, please, pay close attention. I'm putting this paper with me in the attic, it will tell you to go somewhere, please, go there soon." She whispers softly. She stands carefully and hastily hides the paper in between one of the support beams and the roof. Freezing as she hears something. Pained as she is on her tiptoes and off-balance she does her best to stay still. Whether or not she could she had no clue of.

I hear a soft tap on my door and I quickly shut off the television I hide the other V.D.'s in a box slipping it under my bed.

"Come in!" I say, taking the headphones off and slipping a book I had nearby in front of me pretending to read.

My grandmother opened the door slightly giving me a soft sad smile, and I immediately knew what was coming. "Hey, Dear? Can you give me a new pair of eyes on this case? The people at the station couldn't figure anything out and we're planning to give up, but I thought we could give it a try?" She guiltily asked, "It's from nearly a decade ago, so I thought we could check it, it's old enough that in case we don't find anything it'll be alright."

I nod slowly hoping to just get my grandma out of my hair. I walk out of the room with her heading down the stairs.

At the dining table there are tons of pictures and conspiracies about her. All about her death. I've never dealt with murder cases. Always petty ones like thievery and burglary. The worst part about the case is that I recognized the girl, she was th no name girl from the video diaries.

"Apparently no one really knows her identity. We did blood tests and we couldn't find anything about parents or relatives at all." My grandmother shared. Tapping her chin in thought.

The girl lived here, she moved everything from her room up to the attic, she hid there from something, making videos and hiding them but hoping someone would find them, and I found them. But I can't tell my grandmother that. There's no way; even if it would help the case a lot, even solve it. I had to do this on my own. I feel as though I'd be betraying her if I were to hand over those tapes, not to mention getting kicked out of this house. I need to find the evidence quickly before my grandmother finds out everything.

But for now, I'll use this to my advantage. I'm sorry grandma.

<<I'm crap at teasers! Do you know why? Because I've never written one! Anyhoo, let's get onto the real stuff. I may post this story, but there are some things I'll have to point out if I do, disclaimers and such. Please comment if you want to read this because otherwise, I won't be posting this! Not a big deal, but if it's only one person, no doubt, I'll do as much as I can for you. <3>>
