Hospital

A man came running inside the hospital. He halted at reception and asked- “may I know where khushi Gupta is admitted?”

“Accident patient? She is undergoing an operation on 3rd floor..” answered receptionist after checking the records.

“Ok!!” Saying this he ran from there towards the lift.  He pressed the button continuously cursing the lift. He saw the lift was on 6th floor so he ran from there towards the staircase.

He reached the third floor and asked for operation theatre. By getting the directions he reached the operation theatre and saw a lady in her mid-forties weeping continuously by hugging a boy of around 18 years.

He went towards them and kept a hand on the shoulder of the boy. The Boy was relieved seeing him. The lady stopped crying seeing him and said by coming out of the hug- “Arnav! kh.u.shi..” saying this she hugged Arnav.

“Shh.. relax Aunty, nothing will happen to our khushi.” Comforted Arnav by making Garima sit on the bench who was crying non stop.

“What did the doctors say Karan?” asked Arnav to that boy who was khushi’s brother.

“They did not come out yet..” said Karan half relieved that Arnav is present and half afraid about his sister’s state.

“OK!”

Just then a nurse came out of the OT. Seeing her Arnav bombarded the questions- “what happened? How is she? Is everything alright? Answer me Dammit!!” bellowed Arnav.

“Calm down sir, we cannot say anything yet. But doctors are doing their best. So please be patient and pray to God..” saying this she left from there

“What does she mean ‘by we cannot say anything yet’?” asked Arnav frustrated by not knowing about Khushi.

Arnav remembered how he got a call from Karan when he was in a meeting saying khushi met with an accident, when she was crossing the road and a car came out of nowhere hitting her. He was panicked but soon rushed out of the office to hospital.

Khushi was his fiancée cum best friend.

He came out of his thoughts by a pat on his shoulder. On looking up he saw 3 doctors coming out of the OT with a worried expression. As soon as he saw him he asked the doctors- “how is khushi doctor?”

The operation was successful but, We can't say anything until she gets her conscious back.” Replied the doctor with A sympathetic look.

“When will she regain her conscious?” asked Arnav.

“We can’t say but we can expect her to be conscious in 10-12 hrs.” Said the doctor.

“Don’t worry dear she is a fighter because it isn’t easy to be stable after suffering from a brutal accident. Just hope for the best!!” Saying this the doctors left from there.

“Aunty doctor said right she will be fine after 10 hrs and I promise I will not let anything happen to Her!!” promised Arnav

“I know Arnav but I’m a mother I’m bound to worry for her!!!”

“Yeah I understand aunty. Come let’s eat something or else after sometime she won't allow us to eat anything!!” joked Arnav on Khushi’s appetite.

“Enough, don’t make fun of her!!”

“Ok Ok, now where did Karan go??” asked Arnav looking around
