"Ready?" I asked my best friend, Magaret.

"Always!" she answered.

We were both really excited. Why you ask? Well, you see, Magaret and I have been on the competition dance team for four years, and next month was our state finals to see who goes to nationals in the entire state of Virginia. I had a solo, and a duet with Margaret. Plus, I am doing the group routine.

"Adrienne!" Coach Amelia whistled. "Your turn!"

"Coming!" I said.

As I was getting ready to do my solo, I thought about the dances' ending. I thought about changing it, but I didn't want to upset Coach Amelia. Here I go.

Back handspring, spin, and done! I had successfully done the routine perfect!

"Brilliant job!" Coach Amelia exclaimed.

I then thought about how good I am at the routine. I think I will keep it the same. Just until Coach changes it!

The next day, when I was in the locker room at my cheerleading practice, (Yeah, thats right, i'm in cheer and dance), Margaret walked up.

"Really?" she asked.

"What?" I answered, having no idea what she was talking about.

"You know exactly what I am talking about! You taking private lessons with Coach Amelia without telling me!" she shouted.

"I didn't want to hurt your feelings!" I shouted back.

"I WOULD have been happy for you, but you lied to me! I thought we told each other everytthing!" she hollared.

"Sorry!" I said back, watching her walk away.

I then noticed that Magaret was being followed by Chasity Martin. Chasity was newer, for this was her second month, and I could of swore Margaret didn't even know her name last week.

"Okay everone! Line up!" Coach Melissa shouted.

As all ten of us on the competitive team lined up, I glanced over at Margaret, as she gave me a dirty look. I also saw that she was talking to what you could call my "enemy", Gina. I don't know what I thought of this situation.

Well so far, you have seen how busy my life has been with sports. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I was on the schools' swim team! I loved these three sports and without them I would not want to live in that kind of world.

As, we were riding home in our 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix, I had a bad feeling that we wern't going to make it home okay. My prediction was right. Before I could yell "No!", it hit us. What hit us you ask? A van. A van is what just ruined my life.

As we were leaving the hospital, and by we I mean my mom and I, I thought of all I couldn't do because of that stupid van. The van mainly hit my leg, which would be in a cast for -get this- three months! I guess the van didn't hit us that hard, because my mom left with just a broken wrist.

The next morning, I stood up, scared to even leave my bedroom. At least it was a Friday. I grabbed my crutches and shoved them under my arms. As I was making my way out of my bedroom, I felt a tear slide down my cheek onto my cold toes that were sticking out of my purple cast.

"Good morning, Adrienne!" my mom said brightly.

"Not really." I answered.

"Its not the end of the world. See, I have a hurt wrist and am still smiling!" she said.

"But this means I won't be able to do my favorite things!" I shouted.

"Its just going to be three months of your long life." my mom replied.
