Chapter 1

Smiles, laughs, moments that we thought would last forever.

But in a second that was gone.

We were on our way home laughing at a joke my sister made, while my dad was complaining about some guy swerving on the road

But he complains about drivers all the time. So we just brushed it off

Me and my sister, Kim, were talking about kpop idols when I heard a loud screech

I looked out my window just in time to see the driver my dad was complaining about. But one thing was different

He was headed towards our car.

I screamed as I grabbed my older sisters hand before our car rolled down a hill.

I had my eyes close refuse to except that I might die

When the car stops rolling. My sisters hand goes limp. No no no

I reach down to grab my phone out of my purse when suddenly I had a sharp pain in my right leg.

But I still grabbed my phone.

I dialed 911

It was ringing, then my phone died. I said a curse word under my breath

I look around to try and get out of the car but the door was stuck.

When I looked around I saw my dad's head on the steering wheel, bleeding.

My mom had a shard of glass in her neck

"MOM!!"

I put a hand on my mouth as the tears start flowing down my cheeks as the ambulance arrives

They pry my door open and pull me out as other work on my family.

I couldn't stop crying.

I was taken to the ambulance. But soon after they said I was an emergency case.

I dont know why though

When I arrived at the hospital I was taken to surgery as soon as I got there.

When I woke up my eyes hurt. Probably from all the crying.

...

It's been 2 days since the accident. They haven't told me anything.

I haven't slept. Whenever I try I see my mother with glass in her neck.

Oh and I lost my right let. I lost a lot of blood cause all of the glass stuck in my leg

So I lay there in bed. Curled up

A nurse walks in and I didnt look at her, I just hug myself and stare at the wall

"Come on Y/n, you haven't eaten since you got here" she said and I flipped over facing the other way

"You've been through so much. And it's going to get worse. Just please eat"

I dont say a word

"Fine then" and she just left. I've gone through so many nurses cause they get frustrated trying to treat me

Soon the door opens and by the sound of their shoes it's the doctor.

"Y/n?"

I stay silent. But I feel a hand on my side

"I have to tell you something. But I need you to face me" I stay where I am

"Please?"

I sigh and turn over and he has a sad look in his eyes

"I have bad news for you."

I looked at him not showing any emotion

"Your parents passed away last night"

...no... this cant be happening!

My face didnt change till a tear slid down my face

Then another and another

"C-Can I see them?" I asked through the tears and he nodded before getting me a wheel chair

When we arrived to their room I sit there next to their dead bodys

"This cant be happening" I said while the tears turned into sobs.

I held my moms hand before I grabbed my dad's too.

"I really hate to do this. But Y/n we need to discuss treatment for your cancer"

I shook my head

"There won't be any treatment. Let me die"

I said through the sobs.

I heard the door opened and I didnt care who it might be

Lee Know's POV

I was walking to see Suengmin in the hospital cause the stupid kid sprained his ankle

Just as I pass a door I heard something. Or someone. It sounded like a young girl

"There won't be any treatment. Let me die"

I stopped In my tracks and looked at the sandwich in my hand that was for Seungmin.

He won't mind... right?

I slowly open the door.

I see her holding the hands of 2 people. And soon I realized their dead. And by the looks of it they were her parents

I nod to the doctor before moving to the young girl.

I walk in front of her and give her a hug.

And I whisper in her ear

"Life is precious. It can be taken away just as fast as its given. No matter what you're going through it's worth the fight for your life. If you dont want to live. There are people around you who want you to live. I want you to live. So even if this sounds selfish I want you to fight for me"

I slowly pulled away as I realized she was crying.

When she saw my face her face filled with shock

"L-Lee Know??" I nodded. At least being an idol has some perks.

Suddenly she wraps her arms around me again and sobs into my chest as I stroke her head and let her cry it out

As she did so I scanned her body for bruising.

No bruises but she was missing a leg. Her right leg. And by the looks of it, she got it removed recently

This poor girl she lost her leg and her parents

"Come on tell me what's wrong" I said as she calmed down

"My sister would be so jealous of me right now"

"Well you can tell her all about it when you see her again" and then she went silent once again

"Or is she dead too?"

She nodded

Wow...

"Do you have any other family?"

She shook her head

At that moment I decided.

"Okay, then in adopting you!!" I said with a smile

I walk around and grab the handles of her wheel chair

" let's go say hi to our other family members" I say when she doesn't say anything I turn her around and head for the door

"I hope you dont mind that I'm stealing your patient" I said to the doctor and he waved me away

"Its okay. Your the first non staff person shes talked to since she got here"

I thanked him for everything before heading to Seungmins room where everyone else was
