Morning Star
Chapter 8 Part 1
Renesmee Cullen
I brushed my fingertips across the clothes hanging on the bar in my closet. It was fall so I was having trouble trying to decide what to wear. I pulled down a blue knit semi-short dress. I grabbed a pair of black leggings and slipped them on. I pulled the knit dress over my head and adjusted the length of it. I pulled on a pair of knee-high black boots. I looked in the mirror, this outfit was not going to work I looked like I was trying to be twenty. I pulled down something more casual, a brown and white horizontally striped hoodie-style sweater, a long brown necklace, white skinny jeans and brown ankle boots. I looked in the mirror. Finally this outfit was perfect; I was never one to fuss about clothes but today was an exception. I grabbed my brown purse and walked into my room. I picked up my many-pocketed grey backpack with all my supplies. It would have been insanely heavy if I wasn’t so strong. I walked into the hall and trotted down the stairs into the garage I put my bag in the back of my car and put my keys and purse in the front seat. I went back upstairs into the kitchen and grabbed a muffin. I quickly ate it and went into the living room. Everyone was scurrying and getting their backpacks and bags and everything they needed for our first day of school. The next person ready was Rose. She was standing impatiently waiting for Alice. Nobody left before Alice, nobody. Finally when everyone was ready we all got in our cars. Everyone rode by themselves but me and Jake, we rode together.
We pulled into the big parking lot. We all pulled in as a train. Alice, Rose, Bella, Emmet, Edward, Jasper, then me and Jake; we pulled into seven spots right next to each other. I could feel all eyes on us and it made me kind of uncomfortable. The school was Fargo High School, Home of the Packers. It was a huge school; it had a pool, an auditorium, multiple gyms, and many other amenities. If it was such a big school, I wondered why everyone was so shocked by us. Jake held my hand as we walked in, I saw all the girls staring at him and I made sure I gave every last one of them a dirty look.
I couldn’t focus on remembering my combination with all these people staring at me. I pulled out my schedule it said my combination on the top. Forty-two, eleven, eighty-six; I turned dial to each number and opened my locker. Oh. My. God. Alice had most definitely been here. It was decorated with a back drop, a mirror, a white board, a jewelry box, and all things that would be convenient to have in a locker. It was crammed full yet still two shelves for all my books and binders. I had never seen a locker like this before. It was kind of amazing I looked at some of my family that had close lockers, they looked just as shocked. I sighed and put by books and binders on the shelves. My first class was history. I got out my history binder, notebook, and book. I pushed my locker shut and turned around. I walked right into Jake.
“Hey, watch where you’re going.” He laughed. He looked so adorable. He had on a plain grey t-shirt with a leather jacket over. Work boots of course, Jake doesn’t wear other shoes unless it’s a necessity and he had a pair of dark blue jeans on.
I laughed “Yea. Where’s our history class, do you know?”
“Down the hall to the left I think.” He grabbed my hand and we started walking to our first class. We walked in and once again everyone was staring at us. We walked to the table in the back and sat down. Everyone was still staring at us.
“I can’t do anything with all these people staring at me.” I told Jake.
He laughed, “Try and ignore it think of other things not about all the eyes on you.”
I tried but we were ten minutes early and everyone kept whispering and glancing at us. They were saying things like:
“Look at his abs!”
