Ch.7 Ponys birthday!

July 22, Ponyboys birthday. Today I was going to buy him a new journal and a few more new books.
I woke up at 8 and woke Twobit up.
"Wake up, I need you to drive me to the book store" I said shaking him.
"Why it's so early" he complained.
"I want to get Pony something" I said while I kicked him in the back.
"Ugh fine" he said rubbing his eyes.
We grabbed Darry's keys and quietly got to the truck. While we drove to the library we talked about what books Pony would like.
"Some of Pony's older books are breaking maybe get him a newer version" he said.
"Good idea"
When we got to the bookstore, I hesitated to get out of the warm truck. When I finally stepped out the cold nipped at my bare arms. We walked into the book store and looked around.

We got the house and everyone was still asleep. I put down the 4 books and journal I got Pony, and wrapped them with newspaper and tape. I wrote my name with a "Happy Birthday, Pony"
Two bit got a pack of cancer sticks for him and just put them on the table. I walked to Pony's room, and then I set the present on his desk. I knelt down and-
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HORSEMAN"
"Ahhhh" Pony screamed like a little girl.
I grabbed the present and put it on his lap, and then left the room laughing. He soon came out of the room running and then hugged me.
"Thank you y/n!" He said.
"No problem, Twobit got you some smokes" I said smiling.
I decided to make breakfast for everyone so I got out the eggs and bacon. I started cooking and when I was done I set the food on the table. I got 7 plates out and set them out.
I walked to Darry's room, it smelled like Cologne. I shook him and told him breakfast is ready. He woke up and started getting up, so I left to wake Soda.
I went to his room, I shook him but he didn't move. I leaned down and kissed him. He opened his eyes and smiled.
"Breakfast is ready, get up" I said.
"How about we stay here"
"But food"
He grabbed my face gently and kissed it.
He got up and hugged me tightly, swaying slowly.
"You know you are very special" he said cupping my face again.
"I didn't take you as a joking person" I said smiling.
"I'm serious, you are special and beautiful" he got close to my face "will you be my girl?"
I looked into his bright blue eyes.
"Yes only if you except that I'm needy, weird and very demanding"
He nodded and kissed me again. We walked to the kitchen to see the boys eating. Soda went to get some food, and I went to sit next to Pony.

Darry brought out 2 chocolate cakes and set them on the table.
"Alright everyone come say happy birthday to Pony" Darry said putting candles on the cake.
We gathered around and waited for Pony.
When he sat down we all started to sing.
"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you Ponyyy! Happy birthday to you!"
And Twobit sang-
"But he's still a little biiiitch"
I slapped him upside the head. Pony blew out his candles, and everyone got cake.
Later me, Pony, Soda, Johnny and Dally went out to see the sunset. We climbed up the roof, I almost fell off but Soda grabbed my hand. Dallas got out a cigarette and lit it. We all passed it to each other except for Soda. We watched the sunset and it was a really pretty purplish orange. Soda kissed me and gave me his flannel, since I was shaking. That night was probably the best night ever, but that's only the beginning.
