I am running.. I don't know what I am running from but it is hard to breathe, my lungs are filling with soot and smoke and my lungs burn. I cough and cry for help but the cry is overpowered by the coughing. The whole world goes blurry and the whole right side of my body feels an impact. My mind is so scrambled it takes almost 2 minutes for me to finally realize that I stumbled and fell. I keep coughing for a few minutes and see two silhouettes sprinting towards me. I cry out a noise that sounds so pitiful I don't even know what it sounds like. They scream my name grab ahold of my cheeks. I close my eyes and feels a pound of dust laying down on us. I feel my body shaking, then I wake up.... My boyfriend Onyx was sitting up on top of me shaking me awake. I rub my wet eyes and begin to sob. He looks at me with his shiny black eyes full of confusion and cups my cheeks. "Was it that nightmare again, Emerald?" he asks breathing heavily. I nod and sniff softly, he leans down and whispers "I'm so sorry" then kisses me gently. I cup my hands around the back of his neck and kiss him back. He lays back down and puts his hand around my waist. I turn to face him on my left side and scoot closer towards him. I left both of my hands resting on his chest and our foreheads touching. My breathing went back to normal and I slipped into sleep again. Not dreaming of fire, destruction and death, but dreaming of sweeter things like candy and soda.
