Blood painted my arms as they hung down beside my head.
I jumped out of the back of the ambulance, alongside the nurses and doctors that were working together to bring out the gurney.
Not my blood.
They yelled at each other frantically as they pushed the gurney through the hospitals automatic doors. I paced my strides to stay right next to them.
My head throbbed as I hung upside down, the car seat belt doing its job and holding me in place. I could feel all the blood in my body gathering right behind my eyes.
"Page doctor... he's bleeding out and... severely..." Their words cut in and out as I didn't and couldn't process what was being said. Although I'm taller than them, the number of nurses and doctors crowding the speeding gurney made it incredibly difficult for me to see him.
Whose blood?
My panting rang in my ears as my eyes tried to focus on something, anything. The fluorescent lights didn't help the impending migraine that was gradually getting worse and worse.
I was able to move my arms to brush some of my red hair that was sticking to the sweat beading on my forehead. My arms are fine, so whose blood?
The slam of the grey doors to another corrider echoed against the pristine walls of the hospital as nurses shoved them open. A sudden pressure on my chest kept me from entering. "Sir, you can't... up to the doctors... please stop fighting!"
I could feel glass decorating my hair. The smell of burnt rubber filled my senses.
Through the rectangular window in the middle of the grey door, a flash of blue caught my eye as the nurses turned the gurney around the corner.
I forced my head to look to the passenger side.
"Nagisa?"
So much blood.
"Nagisa!"
