Jocelyn
My name is Jocelyn. I'm 17 turning 18 in a couple months. I live in Atlanta,Georgia with my dad and little sister Jordyn. My mom died 2 years ago. She died from a gun shot. My dad and I try to stay strong for Jordyn but sometimes we just break down when she's not around. Today I'm moving to L.A for my dads transfer job.
I woke up not really wanting to and went to the bathroom. I did hopped in the shower and did my everyday hygiene stuff. I looked in the mirror as I finished drying my face. I thought to myself, "Man its gonna be a long day..."
I got out the bathroom with my towel wrapped around my body as I made my way to the closet. I grabbed my shirt that said DOPE on it and my black skinny jeans. I threw on some socks and my red and white jordans, did my hair and went downstairs.
"Good morning dad. Good morning Jordyn." I said as I poured some milk into my cereal. "Good morning Jocelyn. How'd you sleep?" My dad said turning his attention to me then back to making his coffee. "Good I guess..." I said. "Good morning Jocy!!" my little sister Jordyn said. She's 6 years old.
After I finished eating I grabbed my book bag and my keys and was on my way to school. Today would be my last day here in Atlanta because my dads job transfered him to L.A. I pulled up to the school parking lot, got out and locked my car. I wasn't ready to move but I knew that it was for the best.
Ever since my mom died, we were struggling with the bills. My dad and I have been staying strong for Jordyn, but its hard. I shook the thoughts out of my head and walked in school.
I saw my best friends Adrianna and Adrienne. They looked like they were twins but they weren't related. I walked up to them and said "Hey guys." And I gave them a hug. "Hey." They said in unison. "I can't believe your moving...."Adrianna said looking down. "I know but everything happens for a reason."I said putting my arm around her neck. "Besides, we're gonna make this a day she will treasure forever!!"Adrienne said with a big ass smile on her face.
We all laughed then walked into hone room. "Damn ma, you lookin fine as always."my ex Ryan said. I gave him a dirty look. I kept walking as I was cursing him out under my breath.
