The music blares, the beat of the rhythm pulses in my ears. For a second I feel like I was being pulled into the music. Like I was at a concert under the stars and the band only playing for me, as for I was the only one in the crowd. All my problems seemed to be just slipping out of my mind, But then it's all suddenly ruined as I heard my name cut through my music.

I sigh and pull down my head phones so they wrap around my neck, and wait for my name to be called again."LEANNA MICHELLE SHEPARD! GET DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT." My father's dirty, drunken voice calls from downstairs.

I pause the music and put my headphones on my desk. I drag myself out of my room and walk downstairs, only to find my dad in the living room sitting on the couch with a beer in his hand. I tense up, I knew it. He was drinking.

"Took you long enough" My dad snarls. "Can you be a darling and leave the house for the night? I have a.." He paused "Lady friend coming over and I don't want her to know I'm a .." He paused again and took a drink of his beer. "Single father of a 16 year old."

"But, Dad I have nowhere to go." I say.

"Go to Beckys.." He says drinking the rest of his beer.

"She moved away 2 years ago." I say crossing my arms.

"Well I don't give a shit." He says and trys to get up off the couch. I feel a jolt of fear run through me.

He gets up and stumbles over to me. His face gets near mine and the reeking, cringing, smell of alcohol fills my nose. He grabbed my arm with a strong grip. "I haven't had a proper woman over to the house since your mother died. Now, Don't talk back to me! You listen to me and go leave for the night!" He threw me against the wall.

Tears come to my eyes as a shred of pain runs though my spine. I hold them back and run upstairs.

I grab my backpack already packet with clothes, and I put my computer in it. I plug my headphones into my phone and walk down stairs.

My dad sees me as I head towards the front door. "Good girl. Now, if your not back here by dark tomarrow, I will personally go out looking for you myself, and you will be majorly punished. Now go!" He said then threw an empty beer can at me, then laughed. I ducked out of the way and darted outside through the door, making my way out of the house.
