I walked back home from the tree house and told my parents that I was staying at Lenny's house.I quickly grabbed my combat boots and a spare top.I then grabbed some loose change from the money jar on my desk and picked up the cigarettes and gum before heading out.I walked to the street cornr so I would have the oppurtunity to meet up with Gordie who had the nearest house to me.When I saw him I ran up to him and as soon as I did Chris got down from a car he was hitch hiking on and joined us.
''Hey, Chris.''Me and Gordie said greating Chris.
''Thanks a lot!''Chris said thanking the driver.
''Sure thing!''The driver said.
''Gordoe,Y/N/N.''Chris said greeting us.
''Hey, man.''Gordie responded.
''Hi Chris.''I said.
''D'you wanna see something?''Chris asked.
''Sure, what?''Gordie asked curiously.
''Are you okay?''Chris asked Gordie.
''Yeah, I'm fine.''Gordie said but I was still a bit unsure that he was telling the truth.
''Come on!''Chris said dragging me and Gordie along with him.
We ended up in the back of some diner.
''What is it?''I asked.
''You got to see this.''Chris said building the tension.
''Come on, man, what is it? Come on, what is it?''Gordie asked eager to find ou what Chris was talking about.
''You wanna be the Lone Ranger or the Cisco-kid!''Chris said pulling a gun from the sleeping bag he was carrying.
''Walking, talking, Jesus! Where'd you get this?''Gordie said admiring the gun in his hand.
''Hawked it from my old man's bureau. It's a .45.Chris said.
''I can see that. Pchough! You got shells for it?''Gordie asked as he pertended to use the gun.
''Yeah. Took all that was left in the box. My dad will think that he used them himself shooting at beercans while he was drunk.''Chris said.
''Pchough! Is it loaded?''Gordie asked.
''Hell, no! What d'you think I am?''Chris said.
Gordie pulled the trigger, the gun actually fires and it shot a nearby trashcan.
''Jesus!''Gordie and Chris said in unison.
''Let's get out of here, come on!''Gordie said dragging me and Chris with him.
''Gordie did it, Gordie Lachance, Gordie Lachance!''Chris screamed loudly.
