Trouble
She slipped out of bed when all of her friends seemed to be asleep. She opened the door slightly and slipped through, closing it behind her. Lennae turned into her cat form as she bounded into the forest. It was a bit before she met anyone or anything. The bird stood in front of her, as if he knew one of them would come back. She opened her mouth to speak but was cut off.
“We told you not to come back unless of an emergency!!!” Bird said quietly angry, so not to wake others. “What are you doing here? Go back to camp.” His wing was out like he was pointing. When she didn’t move he continued, “I mean it! GO!!!!!”
“What about the prophecy? If I leave it will probably go poof because not all of us are here,” Lennae said defiantly. She glared up at the bird. Was it true? Or was she the betrayer? Bird put down one wing and lifted the other, pointed towards the other camp. They shifted to their human forms before they got to it. They entered the camp and saw the red head.
“WHAT!?! What. Have. You. Done?” she yelled, furious. Bird took a step back, and Lennae was careful not to meet her eyes. “And you! You shouldn’t be here!!! You were told never to return! Never.” Red got ready to continue but Bird held up a finger. She glared at him but waited.
“She knows about it. Shall we send her back to camp so she can get sent home? I don’t think so. We know what is to happen. We have never had a prophecy broken. Do you want to start now?” Bird asked, glaring back. His glare wasn’t anger, like Red’s, but it was defiance. Lennae decided that she should probably head to the cabin she had been in last time since it was the only place she might be able to stay. Bird saw her start to move. “You stay here. If you expect me to take the blame for this mess, think again. Explain now.” He was practically growling.
Lennae looked down. All of her courage and defiance quickly evaporated. “He said it all. I never planned on going home and still would not like to. If my being here will cause too much of a ruckus then I shall leave and give a quick call to my parents,” she glanced up to see Red staring at her, still furious. She wondered if she was allowed to do that or not. “Ok, ok. I will go. You know where to find me if you change your mind.” Lennae shuffled back into the forest. She couldn’t turn around and go back to camp yet. She was falling to pieces at the seams. She would spend a few days in the forest and then head out. There was to be rain tomorrow, or so she had heard at camp. She looked up at the sky and headed off in the opposite directions for a few days of peace and time to sort out what was going through her mind.
