You were sick of being inside the castle for so long. Your father was paranoid as hell and refused to let you leave without being escorted by at least 6 knights. You loved him deeply but it got to the point that you were feeling suffocated and needed to go outside or you'll go crazy if you continued to stay inside.

Today, was going to the day where you would sneak out. You had refused to get out of bed, claiming that you were to sick and couldn't attend to any of the ridiculous lessons your mother had set up for you so that you could learn some skills. Making sure that the door was locked, you climbed down the castle wall.

You were surprised at how easy it had been to sneak out, no one seemed to pay attention to someone that dressed like the common folk and it made you happy. There was no one to impress and you didn't have to act all prim and proper.

Your first stop was the town. You heard stories from your father that it was no place for a princess like you as the people there were just savages. The town was nothing like what he had described the town to be. The people were friendly and gave you shy smiles as you passed by them. You had been distracted by the wonderful smell of some of the cakes outside that you hadn't noticed someone coming out with a cake to set up outside.

"Oh god. I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking. Here let me help."

You moved down to help the other girl and that's when you noticed people take interest in the scene that had happened. You needed to rush out before anyone recognized you. As soon as the girl had stood up, you took out a few gold coins to pay for the cakes and rushed out of town.

What you hadn't noticed was that the girl was following you. No one paid this much for cakes that cost less than a gold coin and she was interested as to who you were. She saw you turn around to make sure no one had followed her out and that's when she hid behind the tree.

After making sure that no one had followed you out, you figured it was safe to take off the coat. It was getting hot after all that running and you needed some air to breathe. A loud gasp made you turn around to find the same girl from the bakery had followed you out.

"Wait. Please. Don't tell anyone about this."

Katie could hear how desperate you were. It made her see how sad you looked and it just made her want to pull you into a hug and protect you from the world.

"I know. I'm not suppose to be outside but I just needed to breathe in the air. My father is crazy. He won't let me out unless I have a lot of knights with me and it's not the same. I needed this. I'll pay you however much you want in order to keep you quiet about it."

You had pulled out the small bag that held your gold coins and showed it to her. She shook her head and pushed the bag towards you.

"Then let me show you around. I'll keep quiet about this if you come with me. I'll show you around."

There was nothing about this girl that screamed that she wanted to harm you so you let her take you back into town. You didn't even care about the town anymore. All you wanted to do was spend your entire time with her. She was interesting and you wanted to know more about her.

She showed you around town and took in every area that she had taken you to. The girl seemed to know a lot about the town as she had stories about the buildings and the people that ran it. It was getting late and you knew that you had to go. Your father would probably want to visit you after finishing his duties.

"I must go. This won't be the last time I'll see you?"

She smiled and shook her head.

"I did enjoy spending the day with you, My Lady."

You were just about to head out when you stopped and turned to face you.

"I do not know your name."

"I'll tell it to you when you come back to visit me."

She gave you a soft kiss on your cheek and watched as you stumbled back into the castle.

You didn't even care that your mother had come in and yelled at you for not bothering to try to do your lessons. The baker's daughter was all you could think of and you just wished you knew her name. Her not giving you her name was brilliant on her part as it made sure that you would return. You fell asleep with a smile on your face. You were certainly happy that you had sneaked out.
