"Lucas, I'm scared!"
"Don't be, Princess. It will be alright, just look at me."
The small princess rose her wide blue eyes to him as he guided the child onto the ice. Annabelle shakily held onto his arms as she stumbled on the ice.
"Just take it slow, Your Highness. I am right here."
While Lucas was trying to help Princess Annabelle, Princess Sofia watched from a distance. She chuckled softly at the sweet scene before her.
It takes awhile, but Annabelle gets more used to the ice and the enchanted skates. She slowly scooted around, holding her little panda companion as she watched Lucas and Sofia practice for the big recital coming up.
A few minutes of this and Chochi starts to get restless.
"Chochi? What's the matter?" Princess Annabelle asked, watching the panda look over her shoulder.
"Is that her?" She heard a quiet whisper behind her. A man's voice.
Annabelle did her best to stay calm, though she trembled from anxiety. Slowly, she shuffled herself over to the practicing couple.
Lucas noticed the tense little girl make her way over.
"Princess?" Before he could ask, he saw what spooked the girl. Two big men were at the edge of the frozen pond. By instinct, he nudged the Aralynnian Princess behind him. Sofia joined him.
"You there! Boy!" The shorter man yelled. "Let us see that girl!"
Lucas tried to think quickly. He wasn't carrying any weapons so he had to be creative. Whoever these guys were, they gave off a bad vibe. After several seconds, he looked at them.
"Leave! You aren't welcome here!"
"Listen, kid. We just want a look at that little girl. Send her over!" They called out.
"If you don't leave, you will be in a lot of trouble!"
"I'll take my chances."
"Lucas's, I'm scared... They're them," Annabelle whispered.
"Don't worry, I have a plan. When I say so, Sofia, bring in the blades on the enchanted skates and run. Ready?"
Sofia nodded as Annabelle was unsure.
"If you want to see her," Lucas called. "You'll have to come to us!"
The two men look at each other, as if they're talking. "Fine! Stay right there!"
Princess Annabelle clung to him, but he knew what he was doing. Three kids on a frozen ponds is fine... But put two full grown men on it...
The men hobbled their way into the ice.
"Ready..."
As soon they stepped on, they slid and fell on their backs, the impact cracking the ice.
"Set..."
Crack! The ice shattered underneath the men's weight and the began to plunge into the freezing water.
"Go!" Lucas scooped up the smaller princess and her panda as the three ran off, the shady men distracted. The Two Scars were too close...
