I was so sweaty when we walked in the City Hall that I could feel my shirt sticking to my armpits and back.

"Candice, my entire body is soaking wet right now and I might throw up on our mayor if I don't spew before we make it to her office." I whispered through my teeth while smiling at the security guard who was sitting by the entrance.

"Calm down! I can't see any pit stains yet, and all you have to do is read questions off your laptop and at least act like you're writing down her answers." Candice soothed, hiking the strap of her camera bag up her shoulder.

I wiped my clammy hands on my dress pants, hoping that they would miraculously dry before meeting the mayor, "Are you sure you can't ask the questions while I film?"

"You wouldn't know how to use the camera and I wouldn't be able to talk to such a powerful person without putting my foot in my mouth." She shot me a self-deprecating grin.

"You don't give me or yourself enough credit, but I think that you're right, that camera looks a far cry from my Dad's camcorder." I sighed, turning towards Candice, "If this starts going wrong though, please say we have technical issues and then let's bail."

Candice raised her hand in a salute, "Yes, sir!"

"Okay, let's do this." The sooner we finished the interview, the sooner I could change out of my sweaty clothes.

A receptionist with a sunny smile and stiff hair greeted us as we entered the Mayor's office suit, "How can I help you today?"

"We should have a meeting with Mayor Brown, we're from the paper, Daisy and Candice." I managed to get out without stumbling over my words.

"Ah, yes, perfect timing. Let me notify her that you both have arrived!" He gave us another grin and relayed our information through the phone to who I could only assume was Mayor Brown.

Candice bumped my hip with hers and gave me a nervous look, nodding her head towards an additional security guard who was standing right outside the door to the Mayor's personal office.

"She said to send you in." The receptionist stood up and guiding us to the office door and then shuttling us in.

"Hello, ladies! It's always nice to see new faces in town, I believe you both were brought on at the paper recently." Her deep brown eyes pierced through us.

Mayor Brown had light blonde hair that was cut short just under her chin, leaving her looking severe and put together in a way that instantly made you feel lesser.

"Yes we are, Mayor Brown. Glad to be here, Berksfield is a beautiful place." I gave her a too enthusiastic grin.

"We all certainly do our best here to make the town the best it can be. And please call me Hannah, I'm not that much older than you." She flashed her unnaturally white teeth and then walked around her desk, "I see that you brought filming equipment, would you like to set up here and get started?"
