"WHAT THE FUCK !?"

Max stared at the bed in disbelief. Mr Honeynuts' head was riped off it's body.

"Who in the fucking world would do something like this ? Even I am not that mean !"

He stuffed the bear up his hoodie and sprinted across the camp, avoiding being seen given where the boy was headed.

Max knocked to the conselors' cabin's door. David opened.

"Yes Max ? What can I do for you on this lovely day ?"

The little boy sighed.

"Shut up David. I'm in no mood to deal with your bullshit. I just want to know if you could do something for... him."

Max showed the conselor the damages on his stuffed bear. David covered his mouth.

"Oh my... Come in, Max, I'll see what I can do."

Inside, the redhead took a sewing needle and started working on the bear.
He looked over to Max, sulking and sitting on the desk.

"Max, how did this happen ?"

"Hell if I know. Just left him alone on my bed for a few hours and came back to this."

"Do you have any idea of who it could be ?"

"Nah, I hate everyone and everyone hates me. Too many suspects."

David gasped.

《Max, you know that's not true ! You have at least Nikki and Niel ! And me !
-They'll hate me eventually. If not now, then later. All the people that come in contact with me end up hating my guts. For proof...》

He picked up the tag on Mr Honeynuts' fluffy butt. It read "With love, for our little boy, from Mom and Dad".

Max's eyes watered. He wiped them up.

"I got it for my fourth birthday. My parents were loving, or at least, pretended to be. Look at them now... He's all I have left from that time."

His voice broke a little.

"I still dream about that fucking day. Can you believe it ? What a dumbass. I should let go of the past. It's never coming back."

Tears formed in the corners of Max's eyes. Too many to hide the feelings killing him inside.

David finished sewing back the bear's head and put it in Max's arm.

The boy hiccuped.

"David-"

He was cut off by David pulling him into a hug and holding him tight.
Max's stared in disbelief. He was crying and the one conforting him was motherfucking David.

"It's okay, Max." The conselor softly said. "Don't feel guilty about wanting to go back to a happy time. You have the right to heal. Gosh, you deserve to heal ! I wish I could help..."

A tear rolled down David's cheek. He was sincere.

It was too much for Max. He broke down and started crying, harder than he ever did.

They stayed like this for a whole half-hour before the dark haired boy calmed himself.

He stayed silent for a minute, then spouted out two words: "Thanks, David."

"Anytime, Max."

Max got up and walked to the door. But just before he opened it, David called him.

"Max !"

"What ?"

"If you ever need a dad, I'm here."

Max smiled at him and walked out.

"Whatever, Dadvid."
