Halona meaning : "happy fortune"

I sat up in my bed as I watched the doctors sour face turn to me as I felt my heart drop .

"I'm sorry , there's nothing we could do .."

"Doc , is my baby okay ?"

"I'm sorry Ms Brown .."

I felt my soul sink as my body just took over as I sent a blood curdling scream into the atmosphere with tears streaming down my face .

I snapped back into reality as I heard a screaming baby . I turned towards the sound as I heard the dad trying to calm her down .

He rocked and cradled her , but she just wouldn't let up . I walked over there as he looked and stepped out of the way .

"No , I don't need anything , I just wanna help .. may I ?"

He looked at me with pleading eyes as he kindly passed the baby to me .

"What's her name ?" I asked asked rocking her . She stopped crying in a heart beat , I smiled down at her as she soon feel asleep .

"I don't know , her mom just left her with me , I tried to contact her , but she moved outta town and changed her number ."

"Oh wow , how do you even know she's yours ?"

"I tested our DNA yesterday . I'm 99.9% the father ."

"Smart , where do you guys stay ?"

"My car ."

"Your car .. ?" I asked as I looked up in disbelief .

"Mhm , I'm almost outta gas , and it would really help if you just gave me at least 10 .. and we could be out of your hair and out your way .." he said reaching for the baby back .

"Oh nonsense , it's not a bother .. I love babies , you guys can stay with me until you get back on your feet ." I spoke , rocking her still .

"Oh ma'am , that's nice and all , but I don't wanna bother you-" he reached for her once more .

"It's okay , it would be nice to have some company around , its no trouble ." I spoke handing her back . I already missed the feeling .

"Thank you , thank you so much ."

"It's no problem , really ." I reassured . He gave me a nice warm grin , this man looked like he needed some sleep and a shower .

We walked towards my car , as he got in the passenger side , I got in the driver side and started the car .

I smiled at him as he leaned against the seat and slowly started falling asleep .
