"Seo Changbin is the biggest asshole on the planet. What the fuck was I thinking?" Felix exhales heavily, his array of words coming out in such a long string that he had forgotten to breathe along the way.
Jisung nods in amusement, smiling to himself with satisfaction as he mutters, "Told you so."
"He may be cute, but that doesn't excuse the attitude of that boy! He's such a stuck up jerk!"
"Uh-huh," Jisung lets his gaze fall to his lap, where his phone had lit up with a message.
I just saw you and your blond friend at the bakery. I tried getting your attention, but you seemed pretty invested.
His eyes divert to the street sitting just outside the window. He scanned the sidewalks for any sign of the dark-haired boy who inspired a flutter in his body. No luck, of course.
:( he's complaining about the date with my coworker. Probably gonna get fired soon, so that's cute or whatever.
Jisung glances back up to Felix as he's shoveling the final bite of fluffy bread into his mouth.
"Excuse me, can we get two more cheese danishes?" Felix calls out to the waiter in a calm tone and with easy eyes. He returns to Jisung with a gaze darker than the midnight sky.
"Why do I want to go on another date with him just to beat him up?" Felix inquires, propping his elbow up on the table and resting his head in his palm.
"You're absolutely insufferable. I'm sure he didn't like you much either," Jisung leans back in his chair, crossing his arms across his chest and craning his head to the side to relieve the stiffness in his neck.
The waitress, a stocky teen with a tired smile, sets the fresh plates of pastries on the table. She snakes the dirty plates out from beneath Felix and Jisung's bodies before returning them to the kitchen.
Jisung lightly pushes the breaded dish to the middle of the table, slipping a ten-dollar bill from his pocket and tossing it on the table.
"I have a date in an hour. Have fun conspiring a way to settle with the fact that you're interested in a guy like Changbin."
