Harry was nothing but pleased with the vacation that his parents had surprised him with. With the war, the protests, and the devastating break-up of the Beatles, the trip could not have arrived at a better time. He was used to spontaneous trips, such as this one. There was no denying that his family was wealthy, he had no siblings, so his parents found it easy to surprise him with such luxuries. This would not be the first time Harry visits Italy, he had explored through the streets of Verona four summers ago, and spent a winter in Venice when he was seventeen. He had set a mission for his two-month long escape; to spend his days carefree, admiring the beauties that Tuscany has to offer him, with the company of his parents, of course. At only nineteen, he already had a burning passion for art and architecture. He had no interest in finding romance, for he had enough back home. The only love he was interested in finding was the romance and adoration found in paintings and structures.
Caterina has never traveled as far as to Central Italy, from her home in California. Every summer, since her infancy, they've spent it's entirety in her fathers villa in Tuscany. Her extensive reading, and thorough knowledge of geography, only benefited from her traveling. She was very well accomplished, for a girl at such a young age. She spoke three languages fluently, and was in the process of learning a fourth. She was the top student of every school she has attended to, always trying her upmost best to surpass those in her class. Although most of her success was due to her remarkable natural intelligence, it was also accounted to her dedication and perseverance. Growing up with three sisters, she found her intelligence to set her apart from the rest. Marina, the eldest was known for her astonishing beauty. Vera, who was 15, was associated with her talent in music. She was no worse at piano than a professional player, despite her young age. Aurora, the youngest of the four, could already already paint the loveliest oil paintings, taking endless hours to finish. But Caterina, she was the most clever of the four. She had the same routine in the summer, one she had already mastered seeing as she had established it when she was fourteen. She would read for the first half of the morning, after breakfast she would visit town and visit the local shops before stopping at the home of her aunt, Greta, to have lunch. She will then spend her time with her favorite cousin or her friend, and return back home before sunset. At home she would socialize with her family, and continue with her reading or study. There was no open space in her life for love, she was appalled to the mere thought of being romantically involved with another.
It wasn't until Caterina met Harry, that she realized the importance of love in ones life. The joys that romantic adventures bring, and the fire that it lights in ones heart.
