The experiment

Hey my name is khloe Martinez, a nerdy girl who is not popular,hangs with her brother's nerdy friend Tyler because she doesn't have friends, as you can see my life sucks .

But today is going to be a very special day, the two most popular girls in high school are coming to my house. I really don't know how to feel,should I be nervous,happy or even be scared I say out loud.

Suddenly my annoying brother Jason has to barge in on me
Hey khloe!
Talking to yourself in here?
That will really impress them!

Leave me alone Jason!
I say with a burning look...
I swear, if mom and dad weren't on vacation,you'll be in trouble

Jason gave an "I don't care" face and said
Are you seriously still trying to make yourself look cool?

"Though having you as a twin brother makes it difficult"
I say rolling my eyes

You love me and I know it besides......
Those snobs at school talk to you once and suddenly you're in with them?
Said Jason looking really concerned

The aren't snobs Jason, they're cool!
And they'll be here soon ,so please try not to be too weird.

What you call weird, I call whimsical!
Anyway,I'm heading out to the shed see ya!

Before Jason could step out the two most popular girls in my school maya and Octavia knocked at my door and Jason went to open the door.

Ahh Good afternoon,ladies! He said with a bow
trying to act cool as possible but he miserably failed
The two girls looked really uncomfortable and I felt really embarrassed
"JASON STOP" I said

He left immediately
I turned to the girls feeling very embarrassed
"Sorry about him" I said
"Your brother is so weird" maya said in a harsh tone
He can be normal...sometimes I replied
You just need to get used to him
Octavia responded saying well we aren't really interested in getting to your brother
Maya nodded in agreement saying exactly
"Still I hope you don't judge too harshly" I said
Octavia  replied saying "we are not my sister isn't any better, she and her friends are huge dorks"
"Okay, okay enough about the nerd squad" said maya acting really uninterested
Khloe why don't you show us your room maya continued I nodded in agreement and led the way

We got to my room and the girls started looking around
"This is actually a pretty cool place" said maya
"You can totally snag a hottie in here.....got your sight set on anyone?" She continued
"Oooh good question" Octavia said she paused turned to look at me and said "what are you into anyways girls or guys"
I'm totally into guys I said
"Eeeeee! There are so many guys I bet you'd be cute with" said maya excitedly
I can set you up with someone..... She continued

Before you set her up with anyone we should focus on her look Octavia said maya nodded in agreement and looked at me from top to bottom and said "girl your outfit needs an upgrade"
"Okay..." I said awkwardly and led them to my closet
They put some outfit I'm my closet and made me try them on honestly I felt that I was okay with the way I looked but I didn't want to seem ungrateful so I just went with it

"Ouuu I like this one you look great in it" said maya excitedly
"I definitely feel grea....."
I was about to finish my sentence when my annoying brother Jason barged in shouting "KHLOE YOU HAVE TO COME TO THE SHED!" "Tyler had a breakthrough!" he continued
"Tyler?" Octavia said looking confused
"He's just my brothers friend" I said
"Oh I know him" maya replied "he got pretty hot over the summer" she continued
"WHAT? No one cares about THAT" Jason said looking in disgust "KHLOE, you should see this! Thus stuff is totally up your alley...." He said
I looked at the girls and looked at him I think he got the message
"Or it used to be anyway" he said in a disappointing tone
"Jason get out of here you're embarrassing me" I said
"Maybe I'll just stay here" he said "show them where you keep your diary---"
I didn't let let him finish his statement
I interrupted what he was saying "FINE! I'M COMING!" I said angrily
I Turned to the girls saying "sorry guys, I won't be long" and left my room

I followed my brother to the shed and saw Tyler mixing different chemicals
"What the hell..." I said looking very confused
The chemicals exploded immediately and the whole place was covered in green smoke
"Augh! What the hell?" I said
" oh boy"Tyler said looking a bit confused
"It was not supposed to that" he added
"What is going on?" I said looking at my brother and Tyler

Jason ignored me and turned to Tyler saying"I thought Mr. Benson gave you some tip!"
"Mr.Benson the homeroom teacher?" I said looking very confused
"Can someone just tell me what just exploded in my face" I said angrily
"Tyler and I discovered this theory..." Jason said
"Everyone has a dormant gene inside them." Tyler said
"Activating the gene can *change* you" Tyler continued
"Changes you how, exactly?" I said
The two boys looked at each other mischievously
Jason turned back to look at me saying "that's what we're trying to find out"
"The theory says it can heighten senses, unlock abilities.... All kinds of stuff!" He continued
"Dormant genes?,New abilities?" I said trying not to laugh at the nonsense they were saying
"It sounds like you think you can give you super powers or something" I said being sarcastic
The boys clearly did did not get what I was saying so I made it clear to them saying
"You really believe this? You boys are nuts" I say laughing

"It's all science! Of course I believe it" Tyler said
I look around for a but turned to the boys and said "so we got a gene altering something all over us?"
"Yup" Jason replied
"Don't worry, it won't kill you or anything" Tyler said
"Technically we were meant to drink it" Tyler continued
"DRINK IT! IT JUST EXPLODED!" I said angrily
The boys looked as if they didn't know what they were doing
"Yeah...we must have done something wrong
"Or maybe, just maybe, you guys are full of it" I said looking really annoyed
"Super powers...seriously?" I said sarcastically
"Ugh! I have to clean this place up" I continued "do you guys have any soap?"
"Nope but we have a bunch of really cool things" Jason said
"Well that's enough science for today I'm heading back in" I said and I walked out
I got to the living room only for me to see that maya and Octavia were about leaving
"Maya?,Octavia?" I said looking surprised "where are you going" I continued
"Waiting for you was SO BORING" said maya
"Yeah, we are going to head out" Octavia said
"Nick texted me we are going to sneak into a movie or something" Octavia continued
"You don't have to leave I'm sorry for keeping you waiting..." I said looking really sad
"Don't worry about it, seriously" Octavia said "you're still pretty cool... See you in school tomorrow" Octavia added
And the two girls walked out of the house I breathed in and out trying to catch my bath only for me to turn around and see Tyler
"Tyler? What are you doing in here?" I say looking surprised
I ended up staring at him for a second only for me to notice how hot he actually is I didn't know when I started blushing
I think he noticed but tried not to be weird or awkward
"Hey...um...I wanted to, uh...."
He paused and we stared at each other for a moment it was really awkward
"Wanted to what,Tyler?" I said trying to break the tension
"Apologize. I didn't mean to explode the chemicals on you" he said
"Wait, no that sounded wrong. I just meant...uh.."
"Tyler..." I said
"We should've probably worn protection" Tyler said
He said that just made things more awkward and I started to laugh just to ease the tension a bit although Tyler looked very embarrassed
"Augh! I don't mean THAT kind of protection! Just like, lab coats, y'know?" He said and immediately turned to leave
"Tyler! Calm down! It's okay, honestly" I said
He turned around saying "sorry...I don't mean to be so awkward"
"It's okay. It's kind of cute,actually" I replied
He blushed for a second but then immediately came back to his senses and said
"Well, ah, sorry again" then he walked away he paused for a second turned back and said "see you in school tomorrow" and he left

I blushed immediately he walked away and started thinking about how hot he was only for me to be snapped back to reality by my annoying brother shouting "HEY KHLOE? I NEED HELP CLEANING UP THE SHED!"
And I ran to my bedroom because I certainly didn't want to help
