Chapter [2] Dad has to leave

~Chapter two,Dad has to leave~

“No!No,no,no!”I yelled.“I won’t do it!”

“Stop fighting and put the dress on!”nanny 3 said.

“No!I’ll get the shredder if I have to!Why do I even have to wear it?”

“Because your Father has important news.”

“And I can’t wear my gray dress?”

“Why would you wear that ugly gray dress?”

“Because it shines in the light.”

“It does not and you know it!”

“Duh,I know.I just said that so you’d let me wear it.”

“Wear the dress!And talk properly,young lady.”

“No,no,no,no!”

She pushed the dress towards me.

“Shredder!Shredder!”I yelled.

Father had some news to tell everyone and he told nanny 3 to get me dressed.But she was trying to dress me in an ugly pink dress that was all puffy on the bottom.And when I say puffy I mean run.This thing is as wide as the hallways and will trip you if you don’t move out of the way.And,the inside is so fluffy with white stuff that it’s hard to move my legs.

“Fine!I give up!Put on that hideous dress.”nanny 3 said.

“Yay!”I ran and snatched the dress from her hands.Then I ran to an office.

It had nine shredders in it.I ran to the biggest one and tried to shove the dress in.It went in.

“Tamara!”nanny yelled.

“I can wear my dress!”I trilled as I ran back to my room.I threw on the dress and started to run to the staircase before I sensed something.

“Strangling me is not going to bring the dress back.”I sang over my shoulder.

I rushed down the stairs and into the dining room.Well,not exactly in. I was stopped by a note.

Tamara,

Could you get Carter from his room.

Dad.

Look,it’s a demand.Not a question.Whatever,I would have gotten him anyway.

I went to Carter’s room and found him playing with his blocks.He made car noises as he lifted up a block and made it fly around his head.When he saw we he dropped the block and ran to me.

“Tae Tae!”he smiled.

“Hey,Carter.”I picked him up and tickled him.He laughed and tried to bite my fingers.

I walked back to the dining room.Mother and Father were sitting at the table.Mother looked confused.Father looked sad but serious.

“Come,sit.”Father said.

I sat.Carter squirmed in my lap and made animal noises.I told him to hush.He did so.

“Tamara!”Mother shrieked.

“What?!What?!”I asked.

“Your dress!”

“Yes,it is the gray dress.But the third nanny was trying to make me wear the big pink dress that is hard to walk in.”Ugh,I HATED talking like this.It made me sound kinda like a robot.

“Oh.I see.”

Father chuckled.Then he became serious again.

“I’ve called you here to tell you something.”he said.

“What is it?”Mother asked.

“I have to go away for a while.”

Mother gasped.I did too but mine wasn’t as loud as Mother’s.

“But,why?”I asked.

“The commoners in Guecilo are rebelling against the royal family.They need my help to calm things down.”

“We can not come?”I asked.

“No.”

“What going on?”Carter asked.

“Daddy has to go away for a while,Carter.”Father said softly.

“Why?”

“Because some people are being mean to friends of our.I need to go help.”

“Aw.I want Daddy to stay.”

“Well,Daddy wants to too but our friends really need my help.”

“Okay.”Carter sighed and crossed his arms.He made a pouting face that was funny with his chubby little cheeks.

“So when do you-”Mother started to say but was interrupted when a man came in the room.

“Sir,your ride is ready.”he said.

“-leave?”Mother finished.

“Sorry.I was about to tell you.”Father got up.

My eyes started to sting.The Guecilo’s were on the other side of the world and their people don’t like listening to powerful people not close to their Kingdom.They could get murderous but it’s very rare.

“Tae Tae,I wanna go back to my blocks.”Carter mumbled.

“We have to say goodbye to Daddy first.”I said.

“Okay.”

I walked over and handed him to Father.Father took him and hugged him.Carter hugged him back.

“Bye Daddy.”he whispered.

“Bye Carter.”Father said.

“Bye Father.”I said after he put Carter on the floor.

“Bye,Tamara.”he hugged me.

I picked up Carter again and took him to his room.Mom would start crying.It feels awkward when you’re around Mom when she’s crying because I don’t know how to comfort her.I’m not good with helping people.

When we got to Carter’s room,he looked at me and said,“I miss Daddy,Tae Tae.”

“I do too,Carter.”

Four days later I was playing with Carter.He wanted me to play with him and his legos.I was almost done making a house for his little lego people when Nanny 6 came running in.

“Children!You must come downstairs!”she gasped.She looked like she’d been running.

“What?What is it?”I asked.

“You’re father is back!”
